After his mother passed away Michael Joseph Keenan was placed in the St Aloysius orphanage in Rhode Island. His sisters Rose and Alice were placed with separate caretakers.
Rose, being older, became a nurse. She met two women apparently from the O'Connor family. It was arranged that Mickey (Michael Joseph) would go to New Brunswick, Canada.
It was apparently near the Hanrahan home #28 district, Kent, Weldford parish. Thus, that is how he met Mary Hanrahan.
