| every so often, when i can get on a computer long enough to give an update, i will. the update will consist of information pertaining to my life and how i fell about certain things. in this entry i am going to discuss the matter starndarized testing. i agree that we as students should be evaluated for the purpose of finding where we need to be in the world or in the school, but i disagree with the fact of having to be constantly judged and labled by the system. i do enjoy getting a better education and having better opertunities for life, but at the price of what? |
| in the past few months i have been reading a series of books by madeleine l'engle. it is the wringle in time series that starts with a wringle in time and continues with a wind in the door and then a swiftly tilting planet and thats as far as ive gotten in the series and i suggest this series to all of my fans. |

| profanity and violence still plauges our lives today as they did since anyone can remeber. but even at that, why do we let it continue? we always complain about how corrupt the world is, but do you try to do anything about it? i saw a movie yesterday that i havent seen in a while and everytime i see it i feel a little less like a poser. | i have currently notice that the world is dependent on computers and there is nothing that anyone can do about it. even as you read, thousands upon thousands of people are on the internet. even me! and what happens when something goes wrong and there is no solution? if the computer says so, anything can happen. what has the world come to? is it the things we own, or is it the things that own us? |

| i would like,today, to discuss the topic of teachers and public schooling. i think the reason for the poorness in pubic schools is due to the lack of skills in the teachers. in public schools there is no way to turn someone away. you cannot chose who goes to your school if the school is public. although in a private school you have the choice of who goes to your school. but as you notice private schoolers have better educations, in most cases. so why do we have childs doctors at the places we need the PhD's, and the PhD's at the places with just childs colds? anyone can be a good teacher if they have a class willing to learn. public schools have to meet everyones needs, but private schools can choose who they teach. |

| 2/26/01 it has been a long time since i have been able to express my feelings to people over the internet, and that makes me mad in itself. why is it necessary for someone to have the internet to succeed in life? what about honest working americans who feel no need to have the net, or dont have the money? should they miss out on any opportunity that other americas have because of their weath? it makes it hard for people to go far in life, or in school for that matter, without the help of a computer and the internet. why is there such injustice? 3/27/01 equality is something that needs to plauge the world. why do we live in a world where acceptance and equality is a myth. i want to live in a world where people are not judge completely on apperance. i want to live in a world where knowing what an 8 gage horseshoe is is common. i want to live in a world where leonard peliter is a household name i dont want to live in a world where someone says the name marylin manson and a person replies with "who is she?" where is justice? where is fairness? 3/29/01 adolencent relationships are somehting that i do not understand. the way that teenagers and young people go about dating is a matter followed through with more difficulty than needed. they make the matters of dating, or have a boyfriend/girlfriend, harder than they really have to be. they consider dating as being exclusive, and being exclusive, being married. why cant they just follow the concept of dating? 5/22/01 today is the day that we are one more day closer to freedom. the chains that hold me here in this prison are being loosened and i can almost taste the bitter air of defeat on the part of the offense. i see the way that i must travel but my continuous jouney that gotten me here has weakened me. now i stand and wait for my moment to escape and be free, but i do this only to return again to bondage. 7/26/01 long time; no type. i have finally received a device that enables me to have a portal to the virtual world! (i.e.- i finally got a computer.) now i can do anything, within reason. after such a long wait i am able to access so much more now, but will i utilize my privalige properly? 10/12/01 "get freedom from high prices." "receive liberty from downpayments." i find it appaling that, in our time of crisis, all that the marketers and buisnessmen are concerned about is the place of their sales. this country has been raped and stripped of its innocents, and all people worry about in our time of trial and tribulation is the amount of money they have to line their pockets with. i find this disgraceful to the country we live in. and in this times of maddness and confusion, i quote garth books: 'when money talks for the very last time, and nobody walks a step behind. when theres only one race and thats man kind... then we shall be free. 10/15/01 in an extention to my editorial on 3/27/01, i must again refer to my beliefs on pure knowledge. i am aware of the termonology of the world that surrounds me, even though those terms do not apply to me. i know what a drop-top is, i am aware of the differences between the words "crunk" and "bunk", and i know what is considered a ghetto. i also know what a par 5 is, how to examine and reserch classic novels, and i know exactly what a four string quartet is. so, since i respect their lifestyle and attitudes, then why cant they, they meaning confused or mistaken people, respect my lifestyle? im not expecting them to understand, but even if you dont understand something, does it still not deserve respect? 10/19/01 toady i am feeling very me. life is underestimated and time is over thought. i find myself coming to terms with what i have to do in order to survive this trial that we call living. i find that, in life, we put too much concentration on things that dont really matter that entirely much at the moment when we are concerned with them. it doesnt matter weather you understand yourself, or if youve chosen a major or not, of if you cant decide to be with a partner based on the matter of their religion. if you are enjoying yourself, and having a good time, the worst that could come of that situation is learning something about yourself that you did not already know. yes, in a lot of cases you will get hurt in some form or fasion, but then do you not learn to avoid that situation when it presents itself once more? if you enjoyed yourself while you were doing it, then whos to say that it was all in vain or not "worth it". if somethings going to happen, it will happen. in the eternal words of the beatles: "let it be." you cant control today anymore than you can prevent tommorrow, so why try? the only thing that you can control is how you react to today, and what you will do about tommorrow. 10/20/01 today i witnessed an auto accedent on the side of the road that seemed very peculiar. the thing that made this "tragic" scene so interesting was that the people involved were making calls on their cellular phones to settle the dispute. someone call one of the people and the phone rang in a chime kind-of-way. because of the current situation that they had been put in, the person passed up the ring and just answered the phone with amazing normality. with the trials of life, the monotoned ring and cherrful size of their phone seemed to be of no importance, but i wonder if they ever were. 10/22/01 "its a lot easier to look down the barrel of a gun then the look down the eye piece." 11/13/01 its so hard for children to manage these days considering all of the things that we deal with. in our parents "time" thigs werent as dangerous or just plain confusing as they are now. i just wish they would take it easy on us. i know thats not very "sentimantal" and it doesnt "make you think", but sometimes the things that are the most easy say mean the most to people. 11/19/01 whats left of the purity of art? i just observed someone reading a beautiful piece of art and they wrote it with such passion. and what was everyone else doing? what were all the other people who were observing doing. they were all writing! they were taking notes and "correcting" the writing on their own paper! what ever happen to respect? i could just scream at the teacher that issued that assignment. why cant we just sit back and take in the beauty of the writing? why do we have to taint it with our own oppinion? the writing isnt our oppinion, it is the thought of the writer. its good to think what the writing means to you, yes, but not when its being poured from the their mouth. 8/10/02 wow. its been a long time, ehh people? i havent written in this current event section in a long time. lets see ... whats happened? ooh yeah! ive been writing a lot lately and i have some new stuff on this website. i have put new poetry on here under the poetry section. society has changed a lot since the sept. 11th thing. i guess it took terrorism to make the government notice that we need reform in this country concerning foreign policy. now they come to some senses and seen what they need to do, but i dont agree with the whole 'war' thing ... i think its crap. and did all of you hear that there have been four different men with no relation to another or knowledge of another over a period of about 5 weeks killed their wives? the only thing that all of these man have in common is that they were all back on leave from the army and they were all four stationed in afganastan. two strangled their wives, one shot her to death, and the other shot her a couple of times and then, while she was still alive, set her on fire! two are in prison and the other two committed suiside. there is actually an organization set up for the spouses of people who are enstated in the armed forces of the united states. if there is an organization for it, then that means this problem isnt new, nor is it small. 8/11/02 there was a porn ring going around of 20 guys, 10 in america 10 in europe, who had child pornography of their own children! (thats just sick!) they had pictures of their own children being physically and sextually abused by them and had them on the internet. on man requested that one of his 'friends' send him an audio tape of his child being spanked and otherwise abused. now i dont know about anyone else out their in internet land, but i dont really know what to say to this except: "we should have seen it coming". what do we expect when we let people, under the constitutional right of freedom of speech, create website like NAMBLA and other free speech sites that endores child pornography, how to hide your child porn or keep you underage relationship a secret; where to pick up little boys and how to hide you children victims and how to destroy the evidence. this is what we are showing the child molesters and then we get mad at them for doing what we teach them. dont get mo wrong, i do believe in freedom of speech, but there has to be a limit. it has to be a sensibly used freedom. think about it ... why else would anyone need this information? the only way that they could use this information is utilize it. how would they do that? molest children! |
