| TYPICAL SCHEDULE: | ||||||||||||||||||
| MONDAY thru THURSDAY: I take 5 classes at ABAC, 1 at the campus I live on, and the remaining 4 at the other campus about 35 minutes away. Monday through Thursday I take the bus (no, not a normal yellow school bus..an A/C chartered bus) to the other campus. On Mondays and Thursdays I am there from 11am until 5pm. And on Tuesdays and Wednesdays I am only there from 12:30 to 2:00. From Sunday to Thursday, the entire group is provided dinner at a restaurant about 2 minutes away from the dorms, and the 2 remaining days we are on our own. | ||||||||||||||||||

| C BUILDING: The dorm I live in is called C Building and it is treated just like any other normal hotel. The Loyola group resides on the top 3 floors(the 13th, 14th, and 15th), each with our own room and bathroom, equipped with tv, mini fridge, desk, shower, etc. Every Thursday, the rooms are cleaned by the hotel management majors from ABAC. They do such a great job at cleaning your rooms, changing the linens, scrubbing the toilets, etc. They pretty much do it all--free of charge. They are required to do this in order to earn credits twoards graduating. Also, on the floor, there is a maid service for same-day laundry. Some rooms have a balcony, while the others have a much better view of the city. WEATHER: The weather is still incredibly warm. It is about 93F everyday, but when the sun is out it feels like 100F! In the beginning of the trip I would simply walk outside my room and would be drenched in sweat already, but now I'm used to it and can handle it much better. It's still funny to see tourists walking around with their entire shirt soaked in sweat while they pass you thinking how in the hell I don't have an ounce of sweat on my body. It's going to be a drastic change when I get back in the middle of winter in November--not looking forward to pulling the sweaters out at all...Even though it is the rainy season, it hasn't rained as much as I thought. Not many monsoons thus far, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If it rains, it usually rains at night, but sometimes it has rained heavily during the day and since the drainage is terrible it floods many of the streets and strands you wherever you are--unless, of course, you walk through the water(which has leaked up onto the surface of the streets from the sewer). |
