Lovenia "Julie" Munnings     1964-2002
"He that walketh uprightly and worketh righteously, and speaketh the truth of his heart" (Psalm 15:2)

Known by many as "Julie," the beautiful girl with the bow or flower in her hair. This verse describes her completely. My sister dedicated her life to honesty, kindness and unselfishness. She was affectionate in the lives of those she came in contact with.  Julie was the wind beneath my wings. She was my big sister, friend and mentor.

These qualities along with her unyeilding courage, maintained her health, strength and spirit through the past 10 years of her battle with cancer.

On April 30th, 1964, God gave to the late Freddie Munnings, Sr and Lovenia "Peaches" Wilson, a beautiful baby girl. She remained beautiful in features and personality all the days of her life. At the tender age of 28yrs, she was diagnosed with breast cancer. That was ten years ago. She gave a remarkable strong fight. Everytime the doctors told her she had six months to live, God gave her a couple more years. She was an amazement to all the doctors, even though the cancer had spread to her lungs, brain, liver and spine.

After enjoying her 38th birthday in Miami with Mommy, my immediate family and me, Julie returned to Nassau for the last time.  I have messages on my phone from her since she went back, including a nice one on Mother's Day 2002. Her death was long overdue according to some doctors, and she fought a good strong battle. She silently passed away Tuesday morning,  0830, May 28, 2002, after only two days in the hospital.

Julie had a strong determination to live for her two sons - Maliek 6yrs and Meko Pinder 4yrs. They were her life and reason for living. Until her demise, she single handedly secured their future as best she could. She and I discussed plans for them, and I reassured her that the day she can no longer care for them, I will adopt them. This is my plan with the help of God.

In lieu of flowers, the family opened a trust fund for them in the Bahamas. Money orders can be made payable to "Maliek & Meko Educational Fund". An account by any other name, even if it has my daughter's name, Faith Bellot is a scam. There may be members of my own family who are wicked, deceitful and scheming who have done just that. The ONLY valid Account number is #6654. Please mail to: Scotiabank (Bahamas) Ltd. East Street & Soldier Road Branch P.O. Box N-7518 Nassau, Bahamas.

Julie will be missed by her sons, our brother Wayne Munnings, myself,  Angela Nottage her step-father Joseph Adderley, her nephews Travis and Mikhail Nottage and Wayne Jr and neices, my daughters, Fabienne and Faith Bellot. Unfortunately she did not live to meet my baby, but I feel her love and presence around me at all times, and Faith, the baby along with my other children will always know her very well as "Auntie Julie".
