Linda Delmonte Sartori
On the very special day of November 5th, 1910, Linda (Delmonte) Sartori was born to Rose (Piaggi) and Raymond Delmonte. They lived in a small home on center street, in Windsor Locks, but later moved to 7 pearl St where her father and uncle had built their new home in which she still resides today

An only daughter, she began her young life in this town, attending both St. Mary’s Parochial School, and Windsor Locks High School. When her mother passed away, Her father settled into retirement, and transferred the family business to Linda and Michael. Together, they raised their two sons and operated their business for many, many years. Simply put, she loved being a devoted wife, mother, and bookkeeper.
One of her greatest joys came in 1960, when her beloved Mike became First Selectman of Windsor Locks holding that office for several years, until his untimely death in 1967. Her father passing away a few months later.  Linda coped with her loss, keeping busy in community affairs, traveling, bowling, and “betting on the nags” with her closest friends and family.
Later on, her daughters-in-law Carol, married to Joseph, and Sheila, married to Richard, gave her four grandchildren, giving her life a new meaning. Michael Sartori, born August 7th 1972, John Sartori, born April 14th, 1973, Sharon Sartori, born November 29th, 1976, and Sandra Sartori, born Jan 31st 1977.
Linda enjoyed tending to her grandchildren, and being active as a member of the Windsor Locks Senior Center, at one time, serving as its President.

Today, at a young and very independent 90, she continues enjoying her daily phone chats with friends, her card games at the center, and being with her family.

And lastly, at a party in her honor, the Town of Windsor Locks, officially pronounced March 9th, to be forever known, as "Linda Sartori Day"
