JTR Motorsports was founded in 1995 by Jeff Plakias
(Driver), Tracy Plakias (Owner), and Ron Bean (Team Manager). Over
the years the team has learned to fine tune their skills to become one
of the premier weekly racing teams in New England. Mike (Fike) Sartori
joined the JTR Motorsports family in 1996 and has been a key player in
all aspects of the team. JTR owes a lot of there success to Mike
due to his endless dedication and his will to win. Whenever the team
needs something done and done right the first time, Mike is the guy who
steps up to the plate. The race team owes Mike and his family great
deal of thanks for all their understanding and support for Mike's dedication
to the team.
JTR Motorsports races the #99 Chevy Monte Carlo in
the NASCAR weekly racing series at the Thompson International Speedway.
Thompson Speedway is located in Thompson Connecticut which is about an
hour and fifteen minutes from Springfield Massachusetts. The track
is a 5/8 of a mile, high speed, high banked oval. Thompson Speedway
has been resurfaced for the 2001 season and should prove to be extremely
FAST!
The 2000 racing season was one to remember!
JTR Motorsports proved to be contender week in and week out. They
cruised to a 5th place in the final Late Model Championship points, with
4 top five's and 6 top tens in thirteen races. Somehow victory eluded
the #99 Chevy Monte Carlo. Not winning a race after being so close
a handful of times has added fuel to the fire of this young team and made
them even more focused. JTR Motorsports is ready to make a strong
run at the 2001 Late Model Championship.
