Preceptor Project June 1998 to December 1998

The Preceptor project is a fully funded venture between the National Education Department and the University of Illinois at Chicago. The project was to reproduce a computer model of a patient with defined disease state(s) and use the multi-media tools to enable pharmacy students to learn more about pharmacotherapy by applying what was learned in class. As a research associate in this project, I worked with pharmacists renowned in the fields of anticoagulation and transplant surgery to organize algorithms for the pharmacotherapy and monitoring parameters into a multi-media aided model.

Independent Research Project April 1998 to April 1999

Formulated various popular over-the-counter products as well as specialty prescription items (e.g. Gaviscon tablets and liquid, Vaseline lotion, and bacitracin ointment) into pharmaceutically elegant alternatives

Pennsylvania State University, Laboratory Research Assistant Fall Semester 1995

Volunteered at a laboratory and learned aseptic techniques used in effective design of a line of monoclonal antibodies using hybridoma technology as an interest outside the immunology course. The laboratory had contracts with biotechnology companies to use these monoclonal antibodies for possible production of either drugs or diagnostic tests.
