| 01/19/02 -- This is the day of the 2002 NASCAR Winston Cup Preview. Its the first event of the 2002 Winston Cup season. At the preview, you can meet the drivers and see the new 2002 cars. I arrived in Winston-Salem at about 10:55 A.M. It was a very rainy day. I got my ticket for the event at the Coliseum box office and went in to get in line to wait to get Rick Masts autograph. When I got to the line, I found out that Rick couldnt make it because of a bad snowstorm that was going through between Virginia and Pennsylvania. Rick was only able to get as far south as Roanoke, VA from Rockbridge Baths, VA. Rick was one of only two that didnt make it to the preview. The other driver was Robert Pressley. After I found out that Rick wasnt going to be there, I went over to see the 2002 cars in the ANNEX. I spent about an hour looking at the cars and taking pictures of them. I took about 5 different pictures of the #90 Dukes car of Rick Mast. I also had 3 different pictures of me with the #90 and #8. After I had my pictures of all the cars, I waited for the next autographing session. During that session, I met Todd and Geoffrey Bodine and got their autographs. While I was waiting in the line, I saw Dale Earnhardt Jr. try his hand at an auction. That was pretty neat!! I also saw some other drivers there. The drivers were Jeff Green, Carl Long, Shawna Robinson, Jimmy Johnson, Matt Kenseth, Bobby Labonte, Dale Earnhardt Jr., and Kenny Wallace to name a few of them. This is the end of my report on the 2002 NASCAR Winston Cup Preview. Heres the link to the pictures that I took at the preview: http://clix.to/NASCARpreview/. Enjoy! Lets hope the sun will shine on Rick Mast and the #90 at Speedweeks at Daytona! |
