Our Trip to Los Angeles was full of ups and downs.
Our two hour drive turned into a four hour drive when we took a wrong turn and
got stuck in bumper to bumper traffic twice.
Needless to say, when we finally got to our hotel, we were all very tired.
We stayed at the Sheridan Universal right next door to Universal Studios.
We were not aware that the hotel was under construction, so many parts were not
open and not all the elevators were always working. So, to get up to the
room often took a while. When we finally got to our room, it was very hot
and we discovered that the air conditioning didn't work. Sooo...we had to
change rooms. Turns out the air conditioning didn't work in the second
room either! Arrrrr! They did eventually fix it - the next morning!
So, we spent one very hot uncomfortable night in the room...
Day One -
We got to the hotel about 3:00PM and decided to go over to the park for the
evening. We rode the Studio Tour and then did the two 'big rides' -
Jurassic Park and The Mummy! It was a lot of fun and I actually didn't
mind getting soaking wet on Jurassic Park - it was over 100 degrees and it felt
great to cool off! There are no rides for toddlers at Universal - so
Jameson spent his time in the 'Child Switch' areas by the rides playing with
toys there. He seemed to enjoy that. After the park closed at
7:00PM, we went out to the City Walk and had dinner at the food court there.
Day Two -
We spent the morning at the park and rode the Simpsons Ride,
Shrek 4D and Scott and the boys saw the Terminator Show.
Jordan and I spent time with Jamie in the Child Switch area while we waited for
our turn on the rides. With temperatures in the high 90's, the boys
enjoyed the cool mist fans located throughout the park.
That's about all we wanted to do at Universal Studios - so after lunch, we
headed back over to the hotel for the day.
Back at the hotel, we all spent some time at the
pool. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with the pool. Could have
been much, much cleaner! Definitely not as nice as the Disney Hotel.
While we were swimming, Justin got stung by a bee. Poor little guy...
After swimming, we went back over to the City Walk and had dinner at the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. Scott enjoyed the Shrimp very much while the boys and I ate chicken! : ) It was a neat restaurant.
