Roberta Valerie Plank was born December 10, 1914, in York, PA. Her parents were John A. Plank and Gertrude H. (Becker) Plank. She married Dr. John W. Deever on August 22, 1937. Roberta was a homemaker in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a member of University Heights United Methodist Church. She enjoyed golfing, card games and spending time with friends and family. She was Chairman of Volunteers and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Indianapolis area Red Cross. She was President of the Marion County Medical Auxiliary and the Indiana State Medical Auxiliary in the mid-1960s. She and her husband, John, spent their retirement years living in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas. He preceded her in death, as did their eldest son, John Kermit. Her older sister, Gayle Miller, also preceded her in death. Roberta V. Deever, died August 26, 2003, at Franklin United Methodist Home, Franklin, Indiana. She was 88 years old. She is buried at Washington Park East Cemetary, Indianapolis, Indiana.
