Iota Zeta Alum Memories

One of my favorite memories would have to be from the end of my pledge semester.  All of the stories and warnings about the initiation ceremony, such as make sure you shave your legs, and be sure you wear white underwear.  Also, Sue Miller was always an absolute riot during the initiation ceremony itself, before the pledges came in.   Sharol (Brailey) Thomsen

Serenading...this is how I was introduced to Chi Omega and when Rachelle Alexander showed me that sorority women were not what I had thought previously.  Thank Goodness she did that! Anita (Fritz) Cory

Bun Runs (driving past Fraternity houses at 90 mph.) Shoe Shopping (both kinds!!) Driving Kelli T's car (at 90 mph) A whole day of eating bologna sandwiches and drinking beer in the country. Super Big Gulps (at least 5 a day!)  Gyros and Sweet Corn Nuggets. Screaming obscenities when Parents were around (Sorry Shelley B!  Your mom and dad's ears must have been on fire! I still think about that and shudder...eeek!)  Dead Cats Society.  Marker-ing and spray painting my Freshman room -- why?!?!  QUIET HOURS!!!  Steph Sass' parents cabin at Harlan County Reservoir-homemade kahlua and bologna sandwiches (a theme here?) Tuna Pot Pie Tuna Helper (For god's sakes! blech!) Robbi's fabulous roast- Robbi and Rachelle's cooking- I never cooked for myself.  There are thousands more. When I think about my college days, I wonder how I ever made it through and hardly recognize the person that was there.  I guess that is what that time is for, and I treasure my memories- I wouldn't trade them for the world.  I'm so very glad and very blessed to have been a part of Chi Omega and to have known so many wonderful women!

Beth (Johnson) Peterson

Too many memories, but Sue Miller definitely stands out as does her parents cabin. Krisanna (Kilcoin) Miller

Serenading, Rush (getting to be back after the summer and catching up with everyone), Hall parties, kitchen time (checking out everyone else’s food), a dorm bathroom (I can’t look at a stall #1 without thinking of Chi O days), dry shaving your legs before a night of going out…. Too many to list on this page… I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Robbi (Manners) McKenney

Which one some cannot be printed.  But I think Steph Sass and I did some complete idiotic things.  But of course we learned from the best:  Beth, Rochelle, and Robbie. Kelly Thomas

Paul (my hubby) piercing Amy Miller's Chi O Formal date's ear with a needle and an ice cube, getting so sunburned at Bike Bowl 1987 that I couldn't walk for two days,  smoking my first (and last) cigar as a race a the Greek Olympics in 1987, Sig Tau/Chi O 70's function, Big Gulp's at 7-11, Robbi teaching me how to drive a stick shift summer of 1989, Michelle (Turner)Bauer

I remember the times when Sue Miller would have us out to their cabin and what a fun & relaxing time it was.  I remember dancing on green, shag carpet.  I remember sitting out in the hot summer sun and helping to paint the crest on the pavement in front of Randall Hall.  I remember getting my Chi O daughters.  I remember the tips to national and regional meetings and realizing how great it was to be a part of such wonderful organization of women.  I remember my last chapter meeting, which happened to be the first chapter meeting in the new residence hall, and how proud I felt about Iota Zeta.  I also remember how sad I felt knowing that time in my life had ended and I was moving on.  So, I sorry I won't be able to be at the reunion, but I will be thinking of you all.  Kathy (Mohfield) Nissen

:  My favorite memory is the Wizard of Oz skit.  I will never forget Sue Kamper on that exercise bike. Sherri Stoll

I have quite a few good memories of my college years - no single event stands out. Carolyn (Weber) Odum

I have a lot of favorite memories. Probably too many to list.  (Things like sitting in the hallway at 2 a.m. eating a Domino's "death disk" as well as the functions and activities.)  I'm starting to feel old.  When we moved and were unpacking, I came across some pictures from college.  Boy, the things I know now that I wish I would have known then. Shelley Brandert

Riding a bicycle down the hallway with a boy during a executive officers visit. All the trouble Stephanie Sass and I managed to get ourselves into (do you want to drive - I am driving).  Frat parties - ATO  Diane Sherlock

Memories are too numerous to mention but always a great time if Bleth Johnsonstien was there or  there was the fraternity runs, big gulps and Michelle Miller's Nova!!!  And of course Beth getting the symphony necklace for study hours!! Rachelle (Alexander) Westlake
