Rafflesia
The Rafflesia flower, being reputed as the biggest, stinkiest, and possibly the most gross plant on this planet, is actually used as a medical ingredient in soup in Thailand and Myanmar. The bud of the flower is first boiled to a mush in a soup along with other condiments. After which, it is fed to pregnant females as a strength-giver which allows them to go to work right after the day they give birth. This plant is probably not exploited for its medical properties because of its gastronomical doubt. |
