Yacht measurements

The yacht passed though Sydney Heads at 0745. The ocean water temperature was tex2html_wrap_inline433 . Winds were south-westerly initially at about tex2html_wrap_inline383 and fell to tex2html_wrap_inline369 by 10-15 km offshore, slowly changing through westerly to northerly. First indications of a sea breeze were noted at about 0920 at a point about 15 km offshore and an irregular onshore flow at 0925. The yacht reached a point 35 km offshore at 1043 then returned. Consistent easterly winds were not found until 1045 when they were north-easterly at tex2html_wrap_inline369 . The wind speed increased gradually to tex2html_wrap_inline381 and the direction changed to east-north-easterly by 1230 (17 km offshore). The yacht passed back through Sydney Heads at 1345.
