HISTORY
Delayed Reaction was a heavy metal band
which played in the San Francisco bay area during the
period of 1990-1992. The band went through several lineup
changes during its existence. The original lineup was Jim
Neathery on guitar, Eric Byrne on guitar, Rel Hanzy on bass, and Paul Manno on
drums. Before the band started gigging, the lineup
changed, with Rico Macalma replacing Eric on guitars, the
addition of Tom Anderson on vocals, and the bass player
changing his name to Rel Minucciani. The debut show was
at Pony Express Pizza in Redwood City, known today as
Spanky's. The next lineup change saw Summerlynn Ashly
take the position of vocalist. With this lineup, a 3 song
demo tape was made of the band's original material, which
will hopefully be salvageable, and which I am currently
attempting to restore. After the departure of Summerlynn,
the band continued to gig under the moniker of Vas
Deferens, playing cover songs, with Rel and Rico taking
turns at lead vocal duties. The last gig was at the Bahay
Kubo in South San Francisco. Since then the band members
have gone on to pursue different endeavors. If I can find
out any more recent information, it'll show up here. Be
warned.
