Proposition 65 Notice

Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986 commonly referred to as proposition 65. requires that individuals be warned of potential exposure to certain chemicals known to the State as causing cancer and/or reproductive toxicity.

The chemicals are identified as chemicals causing cancer:
  1. Di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP) uses in plasticizer (IV tubing, IV drug containers, IV accessories such as catheters, irrigation and feeding containers.)
  2. Ethylene oxide uses in sterilizing process for the above plasticizer.
  3. Methylene chloride uses an adhesive in IV administration sets, vial adapters, syringes and infusors.
  4. Aniline uses in cross linking agent in injection caps (such as Baxter injection caps).
  5. Formaldehyde uses as mold inhibitor in paper products.
  6. Metronidazole is an active ingredient in medication metronidazole.
  7. Acrylonitrite is a trace component used in packaging foam inserts.
The chemicals are identified as chemicals causing birth defects or other reproductive harm:
  1. Ethylene oxide
  2. Aminoglycosides uses in gentamicin and vancomycin
  3. Ethyl alcohol
