Drama Play

Students will do a play on a book called The Little Red Hen in Navajo.
Na'ahoohail Chi'i.
Teacher will read the book to the students. Students will read with the
teacher orally. Students will pick out which character they want to be.
The characters are mosi-cat, bisoodi-pig, tl'izi-goat, pabii-puppy,
na'ahoohail chi'i-red hen.
Each student will make a puppet out paper bag. Depending on which
character they chose. Material to be use: markers, crayons, paper bags,
felt material, wiggly eyes, assorted color construction paper,and glue.
Each student will be given a page to read and memorize. According to
which character they pick each students will be holding their
puppets behind stage. The students will make the puppet talk using
their hands.
Students will also make pictures of a hen taking the corn
kernel off the cob, a hen grinding corn, a hen building a fire, a hen
putting the corn bread under the ground, and a hen taking the corn
bread out of the ground. These pictures will be use as the teacher
reads the book. The actors will use the picture to act out there part.
The stage will be decorated with pictures from the Na'ahoohail Chi'e
book.
Teacher will invite Parents, School Adminstrator, and friends.
