Rules

General

Each Tournament will be announced 6+ days before its starting. During that time, there will be an NRN tournament signup thread, posted in the NRN Fleet Comlink. Pilots will be able to sign up until 15 minutes before a tournament.

All signed up pilots will need to check in 10-30 minute before the tournament. All pilots who do not check in will be removed from the tournament. If a pilot checks in after 10 minutes, it will be up to the host to decide whether he may fly or not.

In those last ten minutes, the host will be making up a tournament tree. If that is an un-familiar term, it is the set-up in which the tournament will be run, like a NHL Playoff Tree, showing how a pilot will progress on his way to the top.

Important! Unlike regular BSC ladders, there is still hope for the player who loses their first game. Anyone who has ever played in a baseball or hockey tournament, knows of a consolation or B round. This side of a tournament is run exactly like the regular, winning side, except it features all of those who lose their first game. As an example, say that there are 8 people in the tournament. After the first game, there are 4 losers and 4 winners. Both of these groups compete in a regular tournament. The only difference is that the winners side is more prestigious. This was instituted to allow the people who lose the first game (perhaps to an expert gold wing) to continue in the tournament.

When the tournament is set up by the host, he/she will announce the participants in each game of the first round. Each game will be held in the format listed in the rules.

As these games are finished, the winner will be reported to the host. He will then make the appropriate changes to his tournament tree. When all games of the first round are reported, he will announce the games of the second round. This will continue until winners of the A and B rounds are decided. These two winners are encouraged to have a flight together, for fun.

1v1

-All matches will be held in 5/5 format. ((Both pilots fly 5 minutes on each host).
-Both pilots must agree on ship before thee game is played. If a tournament is for specialized ship, such as NRN 1v1 X-Wing Tournament 6 for example, then only X-wings would be flyable.
-If a ship cannot be agreed on, the optionn goes to the lower wing grade. If wing grades are the same, then it goes to the lower rank. If both are the same, and an agreement cannot be made, pilots will be sent to the host who will pick a ship for them, often a compromise ship, with qualities of both requested ships.
-In the case of a tie, a 3/3 rematch will be flown.
-If your opponent leaves for more than 10 minutes, he will forfeit and you will earn a buy to the next round.
-Any breaking of rules, disobeying the CoCC, and abusing other members will result in a removal of the current tournament, and in extreme circumstances, a ban from future tournaments. The focus for these is 98% fun, and 2% pride of winning. There is nothing to get hot about, because as of yet, there are no awards and no promotions for tournaments. Have fun, and keep it calm!
