Symphonic High Fidelity
This is my latest project. A Symphonic High Fidelity! No, I've never heard of them before either. This amp uses a single 12AX7 preamp tube and two 50C5 power tubes in push-pull arrangement. The original tone stack is placed before the first gain stage. The second gain stage is used as a phase inverter. It can't work too good as a guitar amp with this topology. I have drawn up a schematic that uses a self plit output section and will place the tone stack with the volume control between two gain stages.
Pretty complact and clever packaging huh? I plan on stripping the chassis of all but the tube sockets and pots and starting all over from there.I'll also rebuild and recover the cab. I must be a sucker for punishment.
