Two channels, each with their own EQ; reverb; single 12" speaker and a fifty watts of power from 4 EL84 tubes in fixed bias with ~395 volts on the plates. The amp has plenty of power to compete for space in the mix with a band, even against 100 watts amps w/ 4x12 cabs. The normal channel gives as sweet a tone as available in this class of amps. The drive channel w/ four gain stages has plenty of gain, but it is muddied up a bit due to the use of clipping diodes. I have removed the diodes, and performed a few other mods, which has resulted in an incredible tone monster. From warm full clean to fat saturated distortion with an EL84 chime, this amp rocks. |

PCB type construction. Layout is very clean and well organized. Everything is well marked. The boards come out easily and are easy to work on and modify. Bias adjustments are performed via trim pot. |

I have come up with several modifications for this amp that have proven to be very popular with many folks. I have details of the mods listed on the next page. If you want to ask someone else about the mods you can go to the Carvin.com bbs and ask about the hasserl mods for the Vintage Series amps. I'm sure some folks there would be glad to give you their opnions. |
