Naked Pictures!
Pictures of my Tele with it's clothes off!
This is the neck pocket. It looks like the numbers 3 and 6, I don't know any significance to these numbers.
Here is a view of the bridge pickup routing. Note the "2/59" in pencil. Also visible in the lower right corner is the cutting tool bit mark typical of this vintage, and a nail hole in the upper right corner from one of the nails used to suspend the body for finishing at the Fender plant.
There is some significance to the letter D on vintage Fender necks, though no one seems to know what it is. Usually the "D" is stamped in the neck, this one is in pencil.
This is typically where you will find the neck date code written in pencil. Nothing on this neck except the truss rod adjusting screw. According to legend Fender temporarily stopped dating necks in early '59 because of a customer's complaint that they found an obscenity written here. That would coincide with the 2/59 date found on the body.
It is hard to see, but the date code on the volume pot is 825 for the 25th week of '58. The date code on the tone pot is 916 for the 16th week of '59.
Barely visble are the patent numbers on the selctor switch on the lower left corner.
