Ok, if your starting out on any RM map, there are a couple of things you must do. One of these is to take ONE villager, and make him build a dock. This is so you can gather food right from the beginning. If you have enough wood left, make a town centre, if not, make a lumbercamp and collect wood. When you Have built this lumber camp, queue up some fishing ships to go and get fish. Collect up your wood, then make a town centre. Althogh on most maps, you will not have to do this because you will start with around 1000 wood. That is enough for 1 dock, a town centre, a few fishing ships and a house. Get your villagers straight onto wood (lumberjacks) as your fishing ships will collect food for you. When you get around 10-20 lumberjacks, and 1-2 builders, wait until you have enough food to advance to the next age. As you are advancing, your fishing ships will be getting in food, so by the time you have advanced, you wil have enough wood to get the buildings that you need to advance again, and enough food for a few gold miners, and when you have about 5 gold miners, take your 2 builders, and make the buildings you need to advance to Castle Age. (if you dont already have a mill, you will need to make one) When you are making these buildings, your food should be coming in. WHen the buildings are made, you should have enough food to advance if not, just make some military buildings and perhaps a couple of farms. When this is all done, you SHOULD have enough food. So you advance. When you get to Castle Age, you will need to collect stone (if not already) so you can get a castle. At this point, you should have enough food to start makin military units. Try making 5 knighs and 5 archers. You should then have defence against early attack. If you do not feel comfortable with this amount, make more. I (RLF_DrEaD_2) usually take it slow to imperial age as you will have alot of resources to spare (usually) but to find out how to rush to imperial, ask RLF_RAMSES or RLF_RaiDeR_. Where ever you see stone and gold, make town centres by them so you can get villagers mining at them straight away, also make some town centres by wood. As this will help in resources collecting, ALOT. When you have MORE than enough to advance to imperial, do it. But make sure you are making military as you are advancing. Because you are almost guaranteed to be attacked around castle age.
