This EWS Class 60 engine and freightliner rock train were shot at a place called Peak Forest. Two large quarries are located here and there is a nice overhead road bridge for picture taking. It is one of the photographer's favorite locations when in the UK. |

|
The freightliner engines were built by EMD in Canada. The class 60 engine is the last class of British built diesels and were EMD's answer to the class 59's which a couple of rock quarries in southwest England bought to haul their own stone trains. The class 59 is basically an SD40-2 squeezed into the British loading gauge. |
