Sol 8 install



Here's what I have so far on performing Sol8 installs on Compaq Servers. Please send any feedback to this proceedure to me at [email protected].

Boot to the latest DCA from Solaris (http://soldc.sun.com/support/drivers/dca_diskettes/)

Use the latest DU'S from Compaq (http://www.compaq.com/support/files/server/us/index.html)

When prompted for the cd to boot to, use the Sol8 SW 1 of 2. DO NOT USE THE CD MARKED "SOLARIS INSTALLATION CD"!!!

Choose the interactive installation path

Installation instructions are available on each of the DU disks from Compaq. They do mention booting to the Install CD; however, do not do that. Please use Software 1 of 2 instead.
