| After a 460-mile drive along the St. Lawrence Seaway, we arrived in the small town of Mont-Joli. The airport was about 2 kilometers from the motel we stayed at. Our flight was scheduled to leave at 10:00 AM on the morning of September 8th, so we arrived at the airport around 9:00 AM. A short 45 minute flight and we touched down at the small Port Menier airport on Anticosti. After gathering out gear and meeting or guide, John-Paul, it was a 145 kilometer drive to the lodge, which took about two hours and fifteen minutes. We claimed our rooms and unpacked our gear. After meeting the other hunters, we headed off to the shooting range to check our rifles. After a nice dinner in a beautiful lodge, it was off to bed in anticipation of the first day of hunting. |
