Recently, I had the pleasure of hearing Noa Baum speak at Messiah College. An Israeli storyteller, she mixes together the stories from both sides of the Israel/Palestinian situation. She recounts her experiences during the 1967 war and her mother's during the 1948 war. But at the same time, she also tells the story of her Palestinian friend and her friend's mother. Not only was her storytelling capability astounding (at least to Western ears), but the stories left one feeling that both sides were in the right, perhaps a strange place to reach.
