Sagara Sozou

Sagara Sozou...He's so handsome

I don't know much about him. According to what I've read, he really existed in history. His real name was Kochima Shiro. He wasn't a samurai, but son of a wealthy family. He joined the war for the good of his homeland, but later when the Sekihou Tai was accused of being a fake army, he was executed, at the age of only twenty-nine.
I'll try to do some research to learn more about the Sekihou Tai and write more about him someday.
He is like a hero to Sano. So I believe he must have been a very brave and noble man. Sano once asked him if he could use 'Sagara' as his last name. Sozou said 'Sagara Sanosuke' would be a very strange name. But Sano is very proud of it. Sozou had great influence over Sano, and, I'm glad to say, a very good one. It's Sozou's footsteps that Sano's trying to follow. The example Sozou had set for him is what makes him grow up to be who he is. And as certain, the 'Aku' on his back means a lot more than just a reminder of his past.  Sozou with the young Sanosuke
