Kamiya Kaoru

Kamiya Kaoru! So cute in kimonos!      She's the owner of the Kamiya Dojo, the wielder of the famous Kamiya Kasshin Ryu, yet only seventeen. She bears a such a great responsibility... and still manages to look so cute! She's sweet and kind, but you don't want to upset her. When angry, she's pretty scary and she beats you up with anything she happens to be holding. No, what I mean is that she's spirited and energetic and full of life. She's always considerate and shows concern for other people. I think she's forced to grow up when her father died and left her the dojo. She has to try to be strong as possible, but inside, she still needs guidance  and a loving family to help her really grow. That's where the Kenshin-gumi come in, and she's doing fine at the moment.
Kaoru isn't the shy-and-tidy-and-neat-and-you-know-what kind of girl. She's very active and can certainly take care of herself, although sometimes she has to play the role of a damsel in distress, and waits for the hero to rescue her. She is quite good with her sword. (It surprised me a little when I saw her fight with Kamatari.) But she doesn't get to show it off very often, cause whenever there's trouble Kenshin and Sano usually take care of it first. Lots of times, they don't tell her until it's all over, trying not to worry her and to keep her safe. Personally, I think it's a bit unfair. She has the right to know what's going on.   She may not look it, but she really can fight!

Another thing about Kaoru is that she can't cook. Almost everyone makes a big fuss over it. Sometimes they put Kenshin in charge instead. But no matter how hard they complain, she's still willing to cook and keep them full and happy. She tries to do everything she can to help.
And how she loves Kenshin!      Kaoru is very important to Kenshin. She's the one who saves him from himself every time he turns into Battousai. And she loves him very very much. I know Kenshin loves her too. Kaoru really deserves to be loved. And she's got it all to be the perfect heroine. She's lively and natural, and can be gentle and understanding when it comes to more delicate matters. She has the spirit and courage to stand up and do what she believes is right. She can keep calm in emergency situations and tries to figure out how to solve the problem. She's pure and naive and optimistic, but at the same time, quite independent and mature for someone her age. We don't know much about her past, but I guess she had a happy childhood. That's why she grows up to be such a warm and loving and good-hearted person. I just love this girl. Don't you?
