mm: Numbers are not part of the real world.
Q: Yeah, what are they? I haven't seen a 3 running around in the street.
mm: Neither have I. It is a concept that exists only in our minds. It is a good concept for us, say, to communicate with one another.
Q: What is the time in the Sun?
mm: Time is also a concept, it ain't real.
Q: But what is it?
mm: It is a human invention so that we can meet one another at certain time.
Q: Like noon.
mm: Yes.
In reality the only "time" we have is NOW. Funny Ain't it, before the inventions of clock and calendar, "we" only lived in the NOW. But after we introduced these concepts---numbers and time (which led to the clock and calendar)---we can "live" in the past and/or future, which are also concepts not part of the real world. But they seem real, aren't they?
