A BRIEF INTRODUCTION
Dear Friends,
RAMAKRISHNA ASHRAMA, Bikaner started as
VIVEKANAND SAMITI in 1988 with THE CATTLE CAMP organized by Ramakrishna Math and
Ramakrishna Mission, Belur. Presently the Ashrama has a land of 2.21 acres donated by HER
HIGHNESS Smt. Sushila Kumari Ji Sahiba, Rajmata of Bikaner on the 10th
of October 1993. Revered Srimat Swami Satyarupananadaji Maharaj,
Secretary Ramakrishna Ashrama, Raipur, accepted it on behalf of the Ashrama.
He also presided over the Bhumi Pujan ceremony of the Ashrama .

Gahananandaji Maharaj,
the then 14th President Maharaj of the order did the foundation laying ceremony of the
Ashrama on the 17th of March 1997.

By the grace of Sri Sri Thakur, The Holy
Mother and Swamiji for the last fourteen years the Ashrama has been carrying
out various social, religious and cultural activities in the service of the
people.
A BRIEF REPORT ON THE ACTIVITIES OF THE ASHRAMA

Religious and Cultural Services-
Being an historic and religious place Bikaner has been graced by the visits of monks of the Ramakrishna Order a number of times. Till date 117 monks have graced the Ashrama by their holy visits. HIS HOLINESS REVEREND SWAMI GAHANANANDA JI MAHARAJ blessed the Ashrama during his visit to Bikaner. He initiated nearly 65 devotees seeking initiation during his stay at the Ashrama.
Prayers
and Aarti are the
regular activities of the Ashrama. In addition to this RAMNAM SANKIRTANA
on EKADASHI, SHYAMNAM SANKIRTANA on PURNIMA, MAA NAM
SANKIRTANA on AMAVASYA, SHIVNAM SANKIRTANA on PRADOSH
and RAMAKRISHNA NAM SANKIRTANA on SHUKLA DITYA are also organized
as per schedule.
GuruPurnima,
Janmastami, Durga Mahaashtami, Sri RamNavmi, BuddhPurnima along with the Birth
Anniversaries of SRI SRI THAKUR, THE HOLY MOTHER, SWAMIJEE and direct disciples
of Bhagwan Sri RamaKrishna Deva are also
celibrated each year.
Spiritual
Discourses on The
Ramayana and The Bhagvad Gita by Rev. Swami Nikhilatmananda Ji Maharaj, Secretary
Ramakrishna Ashrama Narainpur (Bastar) C.G. are organised twice a year.
Medical Services -
Ashrama runs a Homeopathic Dispensary three days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday) in which free medicines and treatments is provided to the patients.
Youth Interactions -
Exhibitions on the life and works Swami Vivekananda and The Holy Mother were displayed at various school and colleges. Lecture competitions among students of various age groups (12-27 yrs) of different schools and colleges are organized on National Youth Day i.e. 12th January, 2007
Our Future Plans -
The Ashrama plans to start an school on the ideals of
Sri Sri Thakur and Swami Vivekananda which can provide man making and character
building education along with imparting them with the ideas of nationalism and
self sacrifice.

25th of February 2006. He also laid the foundation stone of the
school building.

By the blessings of lord the work has started. The
estimated cost for the school building is Rs.
30,00,000/- (Rupees thirty lacs only). Rs. 5,00,000/- (Rs. Five Lacs Only) has already been spend on the construction
of the school building and the remaining amount of Rs. 25,00,000/- (Rs. Twenty
Five Lacs Only) is required for its completion.
We
request you all to donate generously so that the services of the Ashrama can be
expanded.
Donors can donate generously (partially or fully) in the memories of their beloved for the MAA SARDA PUBLIC SCHOOL.
Donation
of Rs 5000/= (Rs. Five Thousand Only) or more will be displayed on the board.
Cheques and Drafts can be drawn in favour of “SECRETARY, RAMAKRISHNA ASHRAMA BIKANER”. Donations can also be made online through internet in the Ashram’s STATE BANK OF BIKANER AND JAIPUR (SBBJ) account. The Account Number is 51095258825.
All donations
to the Ashrama are exempted from Income Tax under the Section 80G of the Income
Tax Act, 1961.
