In early 1986, Mr. Rodolfo Cruz and wife Linda Cruz started their own backyard business in food processing. Their primary product was the regular hotdog. He learned this business through seminars and training on food processing from DTI, TLRC, and in other countries like Germany and the United States of America.
Their first manufacturing facility was a 375-square meter area of their own house located in Marikina City. The couple hired food technicians to formulate recipes for hotdogs and other processed meat products like Corned Beef and Hams. With a background in cooking, Mr. Cruz eventually came up with his own recipes and developed other products like tocino, longganisa, embotido, hamburgers, etc.
This was the beginning of RJ Valor, which was originally known as Rudy and Linda Food Products. It has gained unwavering reputation in Marikina City in the last 21 years. Rudy and Linda�s Food Products represent top of the line quality food products at a very affordable price.
Since 1986 until around the new millennium, RJ Valor was the market leader in Marikina, producing high quality meat products with affordable prices. With the increasing presence of backyard businesses that produce the same products, and the continuing strong presence of high-end commercialized producers (e.g., Purefoods, Swift, CDO), RJ Valor is slowly losing its market leadership in Marikina. However, over time, it has expanded its market to cover a number of corporate clients.
RJ Valor seeks to regain its market leadership, and to capitalize on its current corporate network, thereby increasing its number of and sales from corporate clients.
