There were some people on the radio talking about racial profiling on the New Jersey turnpike. So I'll just say this about that. (2 things) firstly: I don't care. Racial profiling on the New Jersey Turnpike is, to use some new and relatively harsh slang, so September 10th. So maybe the cops don't pull people over in exactly the right proportions. I just can't care. It pisses me off that you can even talk about it, A conversation should go like this:

some guy: I'm really concerned about Racial profiling on the New Jersey Turnpike

some non-stupid guy: Shut the fuck up you big fucking weenie.

Some guy: you know that a black person is 17% more likely to be pulled over for speeding and get this there is 30% chance that the police officer will be less polite to them.

Some non-stupid guy: There's about a 90% chance that I'm going to club you like a baby seal if you don't shut the fuck up but quick.

Some guy: I think this is evidence of how racial relations still have a long OW!

Some non-stupid guy: I swear to everything good and holy I will break your other arm if you don't stop talking to me.

OK to be fair that scenario is a bit violent but weenie-ness really pisses me off. It is so pathetic that these jerks can't find anything better to worry about.
Now secondly:

If you have a law that everyone breaks all the time, then it is complete at the police's discretion who they pull over. There is a simple solution to this problem, as there is a simple solution to many. If the safe travel speed on a road is 75mph and the speed limit is 65mph what are you doing with that extra 10mph? answer giving the police more power than they need, or should have in this area. But no. We are all so fucking used to having a big pile of laws that can't be enforced. EVERYONE IS A CRIMINAL. Do you want that? Have you ever stopped to think about how much prison time you could do if you were convicted of every crime you've ever committed? That is truly terrifying. Why do we put up with this shit? How does the greatest nation on earth, damnit in the history of this earth, let itself become a nation of criminals. I'll give a clue. It hasn't got a damn thing to do with deteriorating family values. We became a nation of criminals by making a crapload of stuff illegal. I'd like to say "it's time to smarten up" But it's not. It's long past time to smarten up.
