| Located on Highway #21,southeast of Sarnia, the towns of Petrolia and Oil Springs share a heritage based on oil that was found at both sites in the 1800's. Petrolia, I believe, was the site of North America's first commerical oil well. Don't detect on or near the Oil discovery sites at either location. There are still buried caches of Nitroglycerine (liquid nitro). Rapping a hidden container of unstable liquid nitro with your shovel or scoop could cause a fatal explosion. |
