| Wednesday, July 25th, 2001 Yesterday was the big kindie field trip to the Korean Folk Village. It was a fun day and I hope to go back some time to check things out without the children. It's in Suwon and is probably the most reknowned tourist attraction in the city. Ironically, there's also an amusement park there so most of our time was spent riding little rides and in the kiddie pool but we did get to participate in the making of the famous rice cakes--dok. It has to be hit repeatedly with a mallet and I was pretty excited to get a chance to do it and was even more entertained watching all of the kids try. After the trip I went back to the dentist. It's embarrassing to say how long it's been since I've had any dental care done so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that I have to get a root canal done and a crown installed but what a pain. It's nothing I want to spend my time and money on but since it's more affordable here and I can afford it, I guess I don't have any good excuses. Only two days until my week long vacation off of school. Alison and I are planning to go camping and hoping not to get washed away in a flash flood. |
