Regulations

Canoeists do not have the right of way while navigating within the Kallang Basin and should keep clear of all moving vessels, especially avoiding Police Coast Guard boats during their shift periods and during emergencies.
Life-vests/jackets and suitable footwear must be worn by teachers/instructors and students at all times whilst in water. Minimum foot protection must be sandals.
Canoeing sessions conducted at Kallang Sea Sports Club or other venues must conform to the areas designated for canoeing activities.
On no account should pupils be allowed to carry out canoeing activities without the presence of the teacher-in-charge and the instructor.
No canoeing is allowed when drizzling and when visibility is low, e.g. heavy rain. Head immediately for shore on any sign of a storm.
Canoeists must not change places in the open sea.
A canoeist with sickness must not train and must report to the teacher in charge.
In the event of a thunderstorm, all canoeists are to head for shore immediately. Teacher in charge and/or coach are to use loudhailer and/or whistle.
In the event of a canoe capsizing, the nearest canoe is to stop training for the moment to help the capsized canoeist/s. Proper capsized drill is to be carried out in the process of rescue.
