# Quantifiers:

.few / a few:  countable  >>>tree  => trees / book  => books.

 

a. a few + countable è positive meaning_ a small amount but enough.

e.g.  I have a few  apples. If you are hungry, you can eat them.

b. few + countable   è negative meaning_ not enough.

e.g. . Ali has few friends in Amman ; he is lonely.

 

 

 

2. little / a little:  uncountable   >>>water, courage, advice, sugar, ink, oil,….

a. a little + uncountable è positive meaning _ small amount but enough.

e.g. There is a little water in the tank, you can have a shower.

b. little + uncountable è negative meaning _ not enough.

e.g. There is little water in the tank , you can’t  have a shower.
