Younger children: color sorting.
Teach about dark and light. place a paper with a line straight down the middle and the children collage black on one side and yellow/white on the other. The challenge is to keep the colors separated.
For really small children who will not do this alone and you dont want to keep telling them no....... place only black on the table and place glue only on one side. After they are done one side, take away all extra black, bring out the yellow and put glue on their other side of the paper. This way they will see the concept and learn it without being told so.

Younger children:ALL THE THINGS HASHEM MADE
If you are not up to teaching what hashem created as separate days, teach it as one concept. Create a collage with all the things hashem created, either with cut outs or stickers (great motor skill for the twos) and the children love it. (fish, animals, flowers, stars,...) And the cutest touch. Make a figure shape wich the children color. black and white photocopy pictures of the children cut out the face and paste onto the figure, teaching the children the most personal thing hashem created....US!

Younger children:SHABBAT
When we came up to Shabbat we spoke about what we do on Shabbat instead of working. I made a large kiddush cup, challah and two candles. and the kids glued onto each little pieces of paper. purple on the kiddush cup, brown on the challah, red and yellow on the candles. A little prettier is when you place contact paper in the place where they will put the papers. Example inside the kiddush cup put a clear piece of contact paper (cut out the middle) and the children stick the paper on it, tissue paper or color paper. Its more fun and prettier, you can hang it on the window and see straight through it.

When you are speaking about birds, place birds seed in the water table. FUN!

A little daring? When you are discussing how hashem created Adam and Chava, take out cookie cutters of people, create them form your playdough , just like hashem did and then 'blow' a neshamah into them!

Most people create books for the story of creation. Each page, depiciting another day. Another cute idea is to make a big one, on there make dark and light, a big two, on there a sky, big three.....

Teach the concept that Hashem is everywhere..... Teach the song:
"Hashem is here, Hashem is there, Hashem is truly everywhere. (x2)
up up down down right left and all around, here there and everywhere, that's where he can be found (x2).

When you teach that there were fruit on all the trees (third day) create a fruit salad with your kids!

On Yom Shishi big animals and small, Adam and chava most important of all
On Yom Shvei Hashem worked no more, so we should know what this days for, a day of rest, thats the rule, to learn Torah and go to Shul!!

Concept- Hashem created the world,here's a cute song that a contributer made up as she was going along- it really caught on- "I had a big world ball, and in it I stuffed it with the things Hashem created on the different days, after discussing each one in sequence of the Parsha; We sang this sweet lil Ditty- Use any tune that you want- Here it goes- Morah 1st sings, Hashem created me Hashem created you Hashem created every single Jew- Morah passes around the world(container) & a child chooses something from the box- stands up & we all sing- hashem created Me Hashem created you Hashem created________ (he says, whatever object he takes out) the too!"
