Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000)

It's a movie that defies every law of physics, and yet manages to be close to believable thanks to the mythical background of martial arts. CTHD has enough high-flying martial arts to keep me happy, all while rolling itself into a meaty story about revenge with lots of females on it.

This film starts with a legendary martial artist Li Mu Bai, who had decided to pass on his sacred sword (The Green Destiny) to his friend. The sword was stolen by a mysterious force, which caused a series of events testing "the bonds of family, love, duty, and sisterhood" (says Yahoo! Movies). Of course, you could really try to follow the story, or instead fall in love with excellently choreographed fighting scenes and astounding gravity-defying stunts. I'd provide more real description, but I have not watched this movie as much as the previous ones. Still, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon proves even to this day to be one of the grandest Martial Arts films of our time.
