i'm from buenos aires and i say kill e'm all!

       Excuse the B-Movie cheeziness, SST was THE sci-fi action blockbuster of it's time. Starcraft was influenced from that movie, I'm sure of it. Plus the movie gave birth to a far better series, the SST Animated Series. Yeah, 3D bug-squishing.

       This one takes place in the near future (made obvious by the flying starships, and the cheesy "Would you like to know more?" news segments.) The knowledge of an invading army of arachnid-like aliens(commonly known as the "Bugs") is made known to every citizen on earth, which induces a worldwide military draft or something similar. Enter Johnny Rico, a struggling student who ended up being part of Earth's Mobile Infantry division... and was very good at it. At first he joined the army for the sake of his crush, but after the Bug attack of his homeland, he was now fully committed to killing the bug army (see quote).

       SST may seem lame (and it is, in some parts), it still manages to be an entertaining "save the world" kinda movie. Ze battles are pretty cool, indeed.
