Would like to have links to PTA forms, permission slips, Market Day, committee events, membership, fundraising, spirit wear * Students of the month to be honored at PTA meetings * “Schoolpacks” school supplies $35-$40/child * Reflections Program (November) “I Can Make a Difference By” * Discussed interest in starting a Dad’s sports team to involve more dads * Child Nutrition Promotion and School Lunch Protection Act-online petition in support of having the U.S. Department of Agriculture update its decades-old nutrition standards for foods sold out of vending machines, school stores and other venues in schools (outside the meal program) * 9/24 Family Day – try to eat together as a family and do an activity together * Starting collection of Campbell’s soup labels. Now offering better products for schools to select from using points earned on labels. Treasurer’s Report, Kelly Marchese * Budget passed. Motion to approve budget by Paulette Oskarsson. Seconded by Jeanne Dantone. * Received $214.05 for milk caps and cartridges * Donated $50 for Youth Art Month * Paid DJ $150.00 deposit for Fall Dance 1st Vice President’s Report, Ann Mueller (Beth Courtney not in attendance) * Back to School Fair had 25 parent/student volunteers * PTA membership is at 141 members * Need forms turned in so School Directory can be completed 2nd Vice Presidents Report, Lisa Schmeling * Discussed having free Yoyo Assembly “School is Cool”. Use yoyos to teach math/science. Would have yoyos for sale. 3rd Vice Presidents Report, Open Position No Report Teacher Representative (Tracy Katz, Colleen Pennell, Cindy Mueller) * Thanks from Mrs. Stein – raised $1,200 for reading loft * Thank you for teacher breakfast * 9/18 Author Night - volunteers are needed. Trysting Place is supplying dinner. Kohlman’s Kitchen is supplying cookies. Asked PTA to donate money for water. Jeanne Dantone motion to move $ (TBD) from General Fund to purchase water. Committee Reports * Committee Coordinator position (Beth Courtney) trying to make it easier for parents to volunteer by having all event information organized. * 10/19 Fall Dance * Club’s Choice Fundraiser begins 9/10.
