INSTRUCTIONS:


Think of what you would like to give someone, e.g. it could be "time to quilt" (clocks, watches, etc.), something sentimental (hearts, candy, etc.), or an idea that would make you smile or laugh (clowns, animals, sayings, etc.). Then make a Jar of it. This works well with unusual fabrics which makes a varied quilt. You may put a label (any size) stating what you would give, and put your name on it. Applique this onto the jar.

Fabrics needed:

1. One - 6" long x 5" wide focal fabric

2. Two - 1-1/4" squares Muslin*

3. Two - 2" x 6" pieces of Muslin

4. One - 3-1/2" x 1-1/4" for lid, AND

5. Two - 2-3/4" x 1-1/4" pieces of Muslin. (Sew 4&5 together for lid.)

6. Two - 2" x 8" pieces of Muslin for top and bottom.

*Mark the 1-1/4" squares with diagonal line. Place at the top of your Jar fabric on either side, and sew along the marked diagonal line. Fold it back - do not cut off the piece of fabric underneath.

Finished Block: 7-1/2" x 9-1/4" (Unfinished size 8" x 9-3/4")
