We Are

Drew Geerts is our youngest member. He was born on Oct.12, 1979 and has been singing since he found out that God blessed him with a voice. He sings lead in many of our songs, as well as tenor, and baritone. He has an outstanding voice and a bubbly personality. When Drew was about seven years of age, Jesus blessed him with a vision, and that vision still lives within him. Drew has been singing ever since he discovered God gave him a voice, and has studied music as well. While in school, he sang in the school choir and in special groups, one being called �The Bakers Dozen�. He also had a part in each year�s musical plays, several times playing the lead part. He played trumpet in the band and in his junior and senior year, he was the drum major. He attended Louisville School of Music. Drew loves singing, writing songs, and playing the trumpet for the Lord.

Jeannie Geerts is the mother of Drew, and the daughter of Sheila. She has been singing for the Lord for as long as she can remember. The Lord has given her a passion and the drive for singing His word to as many people as she possibly can. She sings soprano, some female tenor, and some lead. Jeannie began singing when she was a child in a family group called �The Truelight Travelers�. She sang in the children�s group, �Truelight Traveler Juniors� until she became a teen. She then sang with the adults until she was 20. Throughout school, she sang in the choir, and played the clarinet in band. After several years, she sang with another group until the Lord led her to leave and start singing with her son, and mother in River Of Peace. Jeannie gave her life to Jesus when she was nine years old. He has walked with her, and has been her guide throughout her life. She believes that He died for her, so now she wants to live for him.

Sheila Fowble is the mother of Jeannie, and the grandmother of Drew. She by far has the most experience of us all. She started singing when she was a young girl with her family. They called themselves �The Truelight Travelers� and traveled and sang for many years instilling the love for God and His music into her children. Sheila has devoted her entire life to God, and she shows that in her singing. She sings alto, a bit of female tenor, and some lead. She was the child of a preacher who taught her to love and obey God. Sheila always did that whether singing, playing the trumpet, raising a family or just keeping God in her life and heart. Sheila sang with another group called �The Gloryland Singers� for about 3 years, after which she felt led with Jeannie, and Drew to form this new group, �River of Peace.� Her desire is to live the rest of her life serving the Lord and singing for Him as long as He allows her.

Rick Geerts is the wonderful husband of Jeannie, and father to Drew. He is our sound manager and driver. He is a true blessing from God, for God has allowed him to be our strength behind the scene, so to speak. He loves the Lord with all his heart and allows God to lead us. Just like the singers, Rick's calling is to help bring Gods message to all that we can.

God
He is our guiding light. He is the lead singer in all the songs we sing. Even though we are a family, He brought us together to be part of His wonderful family � Praise be to God! He has sent us into the world to minister through song to as many people that we can. When asked what our goal is, we would have to answer, �The same as Gods - to try to get everyone home to Heaven when the time comes.� God gave us a gift, and we love using it for Him.
