At RiverCity Woodworks, mouldings are our favorite thing to make. I don't know why, it's just fun.
We are able to duplicate any moulding, so if you have something you need to match, you may send a drawing or sample of the actual wood moulding, and we will have custom knives made to match.
We do mouldings a little differently than most shops. To start with, we don't just cut the blank boards to size and then shape them. Instead, we cut the boards 1/4 inch oversize, then flat joint & edge joint them so your moulding will be straight and flat. Most shops just send the boards through the shaper or molder and they come out just as crooked as they go in. We have installed enough molding to know that it makes a huge difference to have them flat and straight.
Another thing we do is to try to get them made and out the door as soon as possible. For some reason, when clients need custom mouldings, they need them "now." We do our best to make and ship them ASAP. |
