This is more like it!
OK, here's the Reader's Digest version ...
In case you didn't catch it, my name is Mike and I am a single bear, who loves the outdoors and traveling the world. I travel mostly for work, but also for fun when I can (check out some of my travel pics). Getting the chance to meet bears all over has helped make my trips a lot more interesting and furry!
As far as the physical goes: I'm about 5'9" and 180lbs, with blondish-brown hair and beard/goatee (with a little grey). I'm pretty muscular (work out 3-4 times/week), but still have a bit of a belly. And I certainly have more than my fair share of fur!! I can thank my Scottish heritage for that, I suppose.
I love to camp, snowboard, mountain bike and ride my motorcycle (Honda Shadow). I am at home in the woods and hope to find a bear who's interested in sharing that experience. But, I live in a city and enjoy the culture and entertainment that it has to offer.
I generally tend toward the single life, mostly because of my hectic work schedule. So having good friends and fuck-buddies are great! However, I certainly hope to find that special bear someday when the time is right. Being single is a lot of fun also! I am not in a position to relocate and could likely be in Pittsburgh for the long-haul if things work out with my job. If something more permenant were to happen, then that person would have to be close by or be willing to relocate. I am not adverse to email buds, but I usually don't have a lot of time to stay in super close contact. Like I said, I travel a lot and have met many bears around the world thanks to the internet. So don't hesitate to drop me a line and say hi!
I don't really have a "type", but I do have a weak spot for certain physical traits (in no particular order): a dark beard/complexion, furry forearms, stocky musclular furry bears with firm bellies, and guys around my age or a little older. I have also found over the years that I've developed a big lust for black bears! But don't let the lack of any of those traits stop ya from writing! However, two of my "absolute no's" are smoking and drugs! As far as sex goes, I'm definitely versatile and it just depends on the mood. If you need more details, you're just going to have to write!
Non-physical traits are a little tougher to spell out, but really, honesty and a sense of humor are key. I'm pretty out-going and like guys who are the same. I also think a friend or potential partner has to have his own interests in addition to the mutual ones of the partnership. Being together is great, but being co-dependant is something I don't want to deal with again.
So, if you want to know more about me, drop me an email (please attach a picture so I know who it is I'm talking to!). I would love to hear from ya and will try to reply as soon as I can.
A while back, I was asked by Les Wright of the
Bear History Project to write a chapter in his planned book on the Bear Movement. The title of my chapter is: The Bear Clan: North American Totemic Mythology, Belief and Legend. You can find more info (and purchase it!) here:

In, addition, Ron Suresha's new book, Bears on Bears has
just been published, and I am a contributor to the "TechnoBears" section. You can find out more about this great book at: http://www.bearsonbears.com/
Over the past decade, I've worked with the BEAR scene a lot, mainly concentrating on internet related volunteerism. I spent many years worked on
the Resources for Bears site and also complied a large number of clip art and bear-related images. Although a little dated now, here are some links:
