Life
Hi,

Time for a new column. As usual, I will pick up from the last. My Life. Life has been good to me. No need to worry about health, no need to worry about money. Besides a few knocks here and there, its been great... Or perhaps I'm too optimistic.

Nope, I'm not some f***ing rich dude. I dun stay in landed property. I don't own a car. I simply dun have rich parents. I'm not blessed with
chiselled good looks and big, sparkling eyes either. Then how can life be great. Its simple. Be contented.

Be grateful that you're born healthy....that you had the chance to have an education....that you dun look like elephant man....that you have food to fill your stomach and ...your life is already better than 50% of the world.

Be contented...thats something that alot of us cannot comprehend. But just try to understand...I'm not saying that you should just be contented and not strive for your best...life is about being contented with what you have and making the best of the situation.

Like i said...life has been good to me...born to a normal family...had uni education...a job i like...perhaps more flings with the fairer sex would make it better....but then again...i had my chances....

was it really so good? not really...i too have my family problems...if i had my way i would have gone overseas to study...a job that pays 5k a month would b great...striking toto and shuqi by my side would make my day....

the point is the things that happened in my life are probably the best that could have happened with the situation permitting...if they were not...i learn from it....

family problems...theres only so much i can do....overseas education...no dough man no dough...anyway i got the job i want...pay is not spectacular...but good enough for me...at the moment at least....flings with the fairer sex...at least i've tasted....

so the moral of the story....be contented with what you have but continue to work for what you want....work for it and life will be good to you...

P.S. Sad to say but this will be my last column. My own site is up so I got to tend to my own stuff first before I can be a guest writer right? Anyway....great fun while it lasted.

Me also
Hi hi,

Its me again. Sorry my loyal readers (if any) for the slight delay. Quite a lot has happened since the last column and most if not all the changes have been good. (am i tee kong ee gi-en or wat?) More of that later....

But first i shall continue from where i left off. Who am I?! (Images Jackie Chan on top of a hill) I'm Kheng. A sweet young thing who just left the protective cradle of uni last year....and straight into the glittering world of media. Before you think of me as some nubile lass with long hair and big eyes.....i'm male. 100% male. Not alternative (refer to previous column...if still dun understand....too bad). i did have long hair though.

I'm your typical Singaporean (ya loh!)....the usual stuff...stay in HDB...go through the BEST education system in the world without knowing what on earth i'm actually doing....not too bright but i believe at least half of the uni grads in singapore r like me....if not more....

And whose fault is that? (points finger at.....myself) U think i would say the Government? Well they have to shoulder some of the responsibility but ultimately i was given a choice....or at least i think i had one....(actually i'm saying this becos im afraid the government has bugged this website)....ok seriously....i believe in one making his own destiny....circumstances play a big part but its still 99% up to yourself.

Anyway, the moral of the crap so far is.....life is a long tedious journey....a journey where u set your destination....where you decide which road to take....for a large part of the journey (mostly the early years)u may b wondering ard...or u may have been led by someone to walk a certain road....but once you understand enough of this world and take your own path....you will have began on a very important part of life.....your own road to nirvana (btw i'm not a buddhist)....what do i mean by this? Your Life is very much yours and yours alone....u decide what to do with it.....a decision you make for urself, no matter how inconsequential, is a big step in your life....

So how are all these related to the changes i mentioned....i too was once wondering ard....but i stop, checked and made a decision....i went to do something i love....worked hard at it....and now, im reaping the rewards...

This is me, this is my life.

P.S. I forgot to mention....the past 2 weeks have been a blast....worked long and late hours but got the chance to try and churn out stories at breakneck speed (1 hr is considered breakneck for me).....i went for my virgin shoot last sunday....brought a crew down to Singapore Island Country Club to cover an event organised by the Australian Open....i started on the morning shift this week....and as of 1 August...im a perm staff....hopefully its comes with a pay raise....woohoo!

Me
Hi all,

First up, welcome to my column. From now on, I shall serve up a weekly dose of thoughts and rumbles to get you through the week. For the first week, its more about letting you know who I am, why I am a guest writer and you're not.

Unlike our webmaster who is about to embark on an intellectual journey, yours truly is very much stuck in a rat race. MNC alright but doing an insignificant job. Influencing the world with my views....that might take another century.

For the uninitiated, I was a big part of the webmaster's life. So big that i stayed by our webmaster's side for 3 years. (we'll call him WB from now on....which stands for WussBoy....hahaha) I was cast aside for a while, I mean when can bru-thers ever be more important than those two lumps of fats. Come on, i did the same thing to him too. Once. (CY, remember the 'wave away' hand signal? hahaha) Ok maybe more.

Alright, so we were neighbours in hall. 3 years... but i cannot really say that I know WB like the back of my hand. I mean come on, I even get his name wrong. Ah, but thats something that will never change.

The WB i know has a concave chest, sleeps with his mouth open, loves CS, hates sports, loves women (then again, every guy do) - a total geek. But turns out, this guy reads some pretty serious stuff....psychology, religious stuff....things i cannot even spell let alone know....wow! even more geek! hahaha. My perfect companion (when you consider the fact that our neighbours in our first year consisted of some oldies who are about to graduate, a politician-to-be, a mat rock dude, a womaniser, an alternative dude and slacks like us....we just had to click) hahahaha.

Now you know our relationship, and now YOU and I have established a relationship.....so remember to tune in next week....same website....same me....

P.S. I'm the one with my head in the toilet bowl (one of the pics from bintan) so i can't drink....sue me

Phew! Another layout... Learnt quite a few stuff while doing this. The quick tag editor in Dreamweaver is a pretty good tool. Originally wanted to use CSS, but somehow the effects do not come out when i upload, so i gave it up. Removed the games section, I play too many games too fast to really keep track, and i'm just too lazy to write on every single one of them. Put up a links section. Other sections are more or less the same.

No further updates on the web structure since the layout change on March 15th. Added in 2 new quotes, refresh this page until you get it. Am running out of ideas of what else to add in, or how else to change the layout. Have got an idea for a short flash clip though.

Wednesday March 13 2002
Solved the guestbook problem, updated Verbal Puke. Added in a new counter, got it from loe's site too, hope u dun mind. Did a new review on Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

Tuesday March 12 2002
Added in a Guestbook, thanks loe for the suggestion. Problem is, somehow it only appears on my main page, it somehow disappears on my other pages... Will try to figure out the problem and get it up on the rest. Just got back from JB for the weekend, so no other updates yet.

Changed the background and font color, i think now it is in a more reader-ble format. Added in the Interactivity!! page. This will be my main platform for trying out whatever i'm learning, mainly in the form of Javascript and Flash. I'm just going to dump whatever i learn there and think about what to do with the knowledge later. Added in some more stuff at Verbal Puke.

Added in this nifty count-up clock on the left, yeah the one which says Day XX, shows how long have i started on this project, COOL javascript :). Also reset the counter.

Its been a week plus since I embarked on this website. Still a lot of things are missing, i still know nuts about webpage interactivity, but at least now something is shaping up.

Thanks to my dear sis for showing me the way of the 'dots dots' and the 'slash slash'. Relative links are daunting for the uninitiated.

One thing, don't be fooled by the counter, i don't actually have 200 over hits, most of the time its just me clicking to check whether my links are working :P

Monday February 25 2002
Done up games content page, and added another games review on "Helbreath- The Crusade"

Tuesday February 19 2002
Added in some screenshots to the MOH game review.
