Authors Notes: This is a cross over story from Eternally Broken . While essintially it should have been included in it, I decided to write a seperate story for them. This one can truthfully be said to be totally fictional, so sit back take a break from whatever it is you're doing and enjoy.

Part 1: Prologue: The Times in Between: Circa Date: July 23, 500 AD
~Crystal Wars- Final Death for Alexa Peacetree First Apperance of Melanie Storm~
Darkness showered the earth..already the warriors lead by the forces protecting the earth were in retreat. Aiaka Lares, Elemental Princess of Earth, had done all she could to aide Alexa. Now it was time for her to return to the thirty first century and pray things didn't end the way they looked to end. Of all the wars she had helped her friends fight,this was perhaps one of the worst. And it all started because one sister wanted the other dead. Goddess she hoped that never came to be something between herself and her own sister in the future.
Energy flaired to life in her hands as she cupped her palms, Aiaka grinned and winked over at Alexa as she took a final shot before leading her personal army back to safety. The earth cracked and rose up against the warriors from Dark Crystal Palace swallowing them whole it seemed.
"Well, that had the desired effect." Aiaka quirked as she flashed a triumphant grin at Alexa.
"You better get out of here before things get hot." Alexa replied as she wiped her hand across her forehead.
"Yeah, yeah..I'm outta here. You know me..all work and no play." Ai grined as she gave her friend a quick embrace.And then slashed a rip into the time and space barrier,"Give 'em a good few hits for me Alexa..make them pay for all the lives they took." And then she was gone her army with her.
Alexa only shook her head and mummered,"You got it Ai..take care." She breathed a sigh of relief at the retreating form of her best friend. She didn't know what she would do if anything had happened to Ai. And Adelhied would have possibly ripped her a new one if Alexa had let anything happen to her older half-sister.
Alexa gripped the hilt of her icefire sword, she had spotted the leader of the assult in the far distance. Determinedly she stalked down the battlefield, as she went she took out a few warriors stupid enough to get in her way. Bodies littered the ground..both those of the Dark Crystal palace army and of Ai's army. Alexa hated wars..but this was one that she couldn't stop. The Crytsal Wars would be the final one in her realm..she would make sure of that.
On the hilltop, she waited..Princess Firesoul Star, Goddess of Fire and Ruler of Dark Crystal Palace waited for the woman that was her mother. The time had come for one to end..if she had to go through her to get to her younger sister, she would do so. Fire would be the next ruler of Starlight Kingdom..not her weakling sister Starlight.And if she had to, Firesoul would destroy her angelic sister as well.
Fire's hand rested near the hilt of her fire sword..she was ready. She even knew what trick she would use to give the final blow. Blue pools watched the other womans progress..she wasn't worried about the warriors that were killed..they were just pawns in her game. She smiled darkly..the time was drawing closer.
Alexa paused on her journey up the hilltop. The person she had been awaiting had finally arrived. Icy green pools watched the young womans progress to join her. Alexa pushed silvery blue curls from her face. And was soon joined..the young elven maiden smiled at her friend. It was good to be back among the living.
"You know your job Melaine..get them out of here.And make sure that Rose is protected." Alexa instructed the girl.
A nod was given,"Of course,my Queen, everything is already in progress as we speak."
Alexa quirked a rueful smile," I'm no longer Queen..you know that. Take care little elven assassin..I know not when next we will meet. Protect my two youngest daughters with your life."
"I will."Melanie nodded and watched as the older woman continued on her way. Mel knew that the Princess Starlight was leading the battle in the Starlight Realm in an attempt to regain the Crystal Palace to the side of light. So she would see to the infant Rose. Taking the babe up, Melanie fleed the battlefield..she had decided that she would leave the angelic child with some friends for protection.
Alexa was on her way to meet her fate. She trusted the elven maiden to do her job and protect her children. She knew what Melanies alter ego was..and despite the many long years that the two had lived she trusted them both to do what was right. Alexa was soon facing her eldest daughter.
Without a word the two women circled each other. The only sound was the hiss of the fire sword crashing against the icefire sword. The battle between the two women lasted for hours before the final blow was delievered.
"Kalikia sends her reguards." Fire sneered.
Alexa paused as soon as those words were uttered. It couldn't be true..it was a fate worse than death if the dark goddess Kalikia was freed. ~Star will have to be reborn...~ was her final thought as Fire delievered the killing blow..the tip of her sword thru Alexa's heart.
Fire smiled triumphantly as she disappeared from sight on the hilltop. And Alexa lie there feeling ehr lifes blood flow from her..thoughts on her two youngest daughters and she prayed that they were safe.

Time seemed to run together after she had been involved in the Crystal Wars so many centuries ago. Not many remembered that time, but she did. It was the one time that Melanie had been seen..she was an illuision to many. Except for the ones that knew her. She was a true innocent..untainted by the darkness that made up my soul. It was my job to protect her..but I've always been the one to kill her instead.
I stepped outside of the castle..it was overcast as always. It surprised me sometimes that I had lived at Darkstorm Castle for so many centuries and I never payed much attention to the rain that always seemed to fall. It gave the appearance of being from some freakish horror novel..not that they had really been invented yet.
I had a part to play..this was after all the fifteenth century. I was supposed to be a proper young lady. Never a word spoken out of turn and always properly dressed. It was utterly boring. And I had to hide my ears..it would be unseemly for a woman to have pointed ears. But that was apart of me..I was a full blooded elf living in the fifteenth century on earth.
Oh, but there was so much more to me than just that..I was also a vampire. Although to look at me I looked like a girl on the brink of womanhood..instead of the four thousand something year old elven vampire that I was. I had been born in three thousand b.c...but even now that seemed like a dream sometimes. To think that I had been born before written time. It was alsmot unreal.
I was fleeing the castle in truth...Drake was on one of his rampages again. He always seemed to find some reason to kill. I could still remember my life before I had adapted the name Darkstorm as my own. It was before I became the Lady of the Darkstorm Clan...and long before Drake became my older brother. Although I was really the older one, he was at least three thousand years younger than I was if not more.
I became the person I had killed when I was Embraced four thousand years before. I took the name Melanie Storm again. For fourty centuries Melanie had been dead..but it wasn't final death for her yet..as long as I lived and she did. While she had a soul though it was merely reborn at the start of each century. She had held many forms while apart of me..but none ever saw her...except for Alexa Peacetree.
Truthfully I wished there was sunlight..not that it ever really bothered me anymore..I had lived to long to be bothered by it. Only during the part of the day that the sun was highest did I feel weakened. I loved spending time in the garden at Darkstorm Castle..it was my private place. But now I was leaving...and soon there would be no more gardens for me. I was Melanie Storm now.
(Circa Date: April 13,1500)
It had been over a year since I left..I had resumed my life as an assassin..it was all I knew to make money to support myself. It was during this time that I met him..Daniel Sheilds. The one man I have ever truly loved in my long life. I tried to kill him and instead he taught me about love. And helped me to free the other soul that was trapped with my own.
But it wouldn't be enough..I watched him die. And could do nothing to stop it. Perhaps I helped it along. But his final wish was for me to become his goddess. So I did..and on that day I was reborn as not only a vampire..but as the goddess of air and water.
I would kill again in the years to come.
Part 3: Addicted :Circa date: July 30th, 2000 AD
~Their addiction to the forbidden pleasures..Melanie's rebirth (POV: Third person)~
She was into destruction..over four hundred years of living betrayal could warp a person. She liked to play with slaves mostly. And the louder they screamed the happier she was..until him.He seemed to find a way past all her shields and defenses. Despite the torture she inflicted on him.
Even if she starved him he didn't care. And it intrigued her..she was intrested in a male for the first time in over four hundred years. His name was Reade...and he was a mortal.She was hooked. But still she tortured him and caused every form of pain she knew to him.She would die before admiting that she cared for him..yet he seemed to know. And he was falling in love with her.
It was that spark of light in her life that began the rebirth of her soul..the rebirth of Melanie. Melanie was the untainted one..she was pure. Arissa wasn't..she was without a soul. Darkness inclined. But they were the same..jsut seperate parts of a whole.Without the other neither was complete..and it left Arissa slightly unbalanced.But with Reade she was whole again..he did that for her.
But it would take a lot before she would ever admit to those feelings. Meanwhile, Mel had made her appearance known and with her help Arissa admited that she loved Reade and he became more than a slave then. Despite bearing her mark he still loved her. Once again though Melanie would watch from the outside looking in.
Arissa and Reade were married about four months after she had bought him as a slave at the auction. On their wedding night she Embraced him at his request. He was now her chylde..and her darling husband. She hadn't loved anyone in over four centuries and had just given her heart away to someone.
It wasn't meant to last..but while it did they had wonderful times together. They had been married for barely a year before She gave birth to their daughter..Corrina Gabriella Sicarn. She was born as her half brother and sister was..half vampire a quarter goddess and a quarter elven. But unbeknownst to Arissa her darling Reade was a drunk.He spent most of the night out getting drunk while she tended to her clan duties and cared for their daughter. She never expected him to leave her..it broke her heart when he did.
It was then that she swore she would never fall for another male again.
Part 4: Friendly Banter: Circa Date: November 14, 506 AD
~Aiaka Lares, Melanie Storm, and Alexa Nightshade~(Time Interval..Memories)
The three women were the best of friends..despite each having played apart in the Crystal Wars six long years before they had kept in touch after the death of Alexa Peacetree..the lost Starlight Queen. Melanie,Aiaka and Alexa had met within Starlight Tavern during an off day to catch up on things. Ai had come back for a few days from the future to assist with the rebuilding..her use of the earth element would be helpful.
It was sort of funny that after six years they were still rebuilding..but so many things had been destroyed that it had taken that long. Melanie swung her gaze between her two friends.."So whats next on the agenda..we already decided which jobs we're each taking."
"We could go look up a few old friends and plan a picnic." Came the reply from Ai..who at the age of sixteen was already a Major in the Andromedan Imperial Guard.
"And then we'd have to find a place thats not still totally destroyed Ai.." came Alexa's reply to that suggestion.
Mel smiled as she watched her friends friendly bickering. She had missed this..but alas she was usually the one on the inside. Except for most recently when they had switched places for a while. Sometimes she and her counterpart did this. The arguement between Ai and Alexa was getting worse.
"Well, if you hadn't let her burn the damned meadow down we wouldn't have this problem now would we?" Aiaka countered.
"Let her?? Shimatta..I wasn't there to stop her!" Alexa shouted back.
"Well, I was busy keeping your people alive on the Earth..you wanted your friends there to die?" Ai yelled back.
Melanie jumped in.."Okay you two enough..how about we just take a trip to Moonlight Lake..I know that has already been restored."
Aiaka ran digits thru emerald curls and glanced between Alexa and Melanie before she replied.."Sounds okay with me..if Alexa agrees.."
Alexa smiled satisfied.."That works with me."
Melanie nodded satisfied and went back to her thoughts as she half listened to her two friends. Aiaka was in the process of building an elemental ball for them to play with. Since there was three elementalist in the room that was a fairly easy task to accomplish. She soon had that ball held between her palms.
"We should go so we can use this ball before the elements disperse." Ai said.
"We can always make another one Ai..don't be such a pushy person..not all of us are workaholics.." Alexa repied.
"I am not a workaholic." Aiaka glared at her friend.
"Actually you are Aiaka.." Melanie chimed in.
"So..I put in long hours..thats not my fault. Unlike you two I don't have an eternity to live..I have my one lifetime..I am only human you know." Came that sullen reply from Aiaka..it wasn't much fun having friends who were immortal sometimes.
"Either me or Mel here could always Embrace you Ai.." Alexa replied with.
Aiaka blanched..'Do I look that desperate to live forever? Besides..who'd want to look like they were sixteen years old forever? I'll have to pass..I'd rather stay mortal."
Both women shrugged..it was no big thing for them..Melanie looked eighteen and Alexa was born vampiric. Soon enough the three women would be on their way to Moonlight Lake for an evening of fun and games. But not all good times last forever.
Part 5: Destiny's Call: Circa date: March 13, 2002.
~Arissa comes to Rhy'Din~ (Death and Rebirth)

She had needed a change..and since she knew that her nieces, Katrine Angel and Santana Dream were in Rhy'Din and quite happy it was there that she went. She was far from wanting to be social with anyone. That wasn't her intent..far from it infact.She had hoped to refind her lost balance..she was broken hearted. She had never intended on doing anything other than running Dark Whispers Inn. But the Fates had other plans for her.
Barely a week after coming to Rhy'Din she met a child.At first she thought that it was a girl..this was until she was cleaning her and discovered she had parts that weren't quite right for a female. She suddenly found herself saddled with a male-child..one younger than her own darling Corinna.But she embraced this moment to nurture a child who seemed as unbalanced as she did and slowly Arissa came to care for her little Prism.
What was it with her luck with the opposite sex? Truthfully she could have cared less for him the night she meet him. Even if he was a Kindred as she was..she simply wasn't intrested in falling in love again. She should have pushed Melanie back further inside before she could find the chance to fall in love. But alas, Arissa had never been able to deny her 'sister' anything she wanted. So she allowed her to meet this man. It can't be said that Arissa didn't enjoy the insults..she made it her lifes work to torment him..it was fun for her.
A blossming Melanie..and a waning Arissa..what a pair. But as always Arissa would be the cause of her cherished counterparts death. Perhaps it would be final death..only time would tell. But she allowed her one last visit with him. It was probably against her better judgement to allow this. Mel made her feelings known and then died before him in a way..the total death would come when she was back in her special place.
But it wouldn't be final death..Arissa wanted her 'sister' to be happy. So upon returning to their home realm she seperated with Mel and sent her back to Rhy'Din to see if things could work out between them. And things did for a while..until Reades return. Melanie had to go back..and on the night she was to leave he came to visit and everything was out in the open then.He walked out on her.
Part 6: Hope's Story The Creation of Untained Blood/The Untained One

All she had been able to do was watch him walk out..it was the hardest thing that Melanie had ever done in her life. But she wouldn't be alone for very long..her best friend always knew when she needed her and soon enough another knock would be heard on the door to her bedroom. Only Ai didn't wait until she was invited in, she pushed the door open and walked into the room. Resting her slender form against the doorframe, blueish-grey pools swpt over the items her best friend was packing.
"I heard Reade was back in town." Ai so bluntly put that.
"Why else would I be walking away from everything here..its not as if theres anything here for me.."
Ai rolled her eyes,"You're always welcome to come stay with me and you know that. Just don't get any ideas about biting me." she quiped trying to cheer her friend up.
That would get a small giggle from Mel, and she turned around to face her friend.."What and spoil Alexa's chances at getting the first nibble? Never."
Aiaka made a snorting sound.."She'd have to get me falling on my ass drunk before that would happen."Gails of laughter erupting from her at that. Melanie only shook her her head at her best friend as she went back to packing up her things for the trip home. It was almost bittersweet really..she didn't even love Reade..Arissa did.
Ai watched Mel as she went about her work before finally walking over to the bed and plopping down. She started shifting thru her things and shook her head making a disguested face at some of the things in there. She took matters into her own hands and started throwing things back out and getting other things.
"Hey! I just packed that." Mel gasped out.
"Yeah and none of its any good. By the gods Mel how do you expect to find someone dressing so somberly?And don't think I don't know what you plan on asking Alexa to do for you. She already expects me to be there on hand for when you wake up..besides someone has to make sure she feeds you right. Her and that faux stuff she eats..I swear you two so called vampires need to get a life."Ai replied as she started repacking the suitcase with things she thought were more suitable to bring.
"Aiaka Lares..if you don't stop that right now...theres nothing wrong with what I wear!"Somber dressing indeed..she rather liked what she wore.
"Demitrius..not Lares Mel..I told you that already. Have you been feeding lately? I swear you're getting senile in your old age."Ai did her best to sound chastizing.
Mel just errupted with laughter..she should have known that a few minutes with Ai would cheer her up and make her forget about the situation she was walking away from."At least I still look eighteen..is that a gray hair I see?"
Ai gasped.."Where?!?" she grabed a hand mirror and checked her hair out."Evil vampire bitch..that was dirty playing."
"Oh bite me mortal trash." Mel retorted back with a grin.
"I would but you'd enjoy that too much." came the reply from an equally grinning Aiaka.
Ai moved over to Mel and hugged her tightly,"Take care Mel..I'll see you in the past when its time for the change."
Mel returned the hug being careful not to crush her best friend,"I'll be waiting on you Ai..safe travels."
With a wink and a quick kiss to Melanie's cheek, Ai turned and caused a tear in fabric of time and was then gone. Melanie looked at her now empty room once more and sighed. A trace of a red tinted tear slipping down her porcelain cheek. Then picking up her suitcase she turned and went down the hall away from her room and entered the portal to bring her home.
(Starlight Tower.. three days later)
"You sure you want to do this Melanie? Theres no going back after its done." Alexa Nightshade told her friend.
"I'm sure Alexa..just do it and get it over with." Mel sat with her eyes closed and her hand gripping her best friend, Aiaka Demitrius' hand.
"Damnit Alexa just do it so she can quite trying to crush my hand..hell fire..I have a husband waiting on me at home that doesn't even know I've left." Ai snapped out.
"Shut up Ai." Alex snapped back.
Mel just glared at the two.."Both of you shut up."
"Yes Mel.." the two replied meekly.
Alexa moved over to her best friend and shot a glance to her other half, Kalikia Darkrose, who had been silent thru all of this so far. Kali moved to the otherside of Mel, and the two women touched their palms together over Melanie and began to weave the spell that would change her. No words were needed for this one. A blue glow would surround Mel and began to remold her form to a slightly newer one though leaving her looking exactly the same with one difference..she now had midnight blue hair.
When Alexa and Kali were done, Ai wrestled her hand free and held a mirror up before her friend. Looking into the mirror a face with a snowy white complection was there..blue eyes gazing back and midnight blue strands framed her face. She breathed in..this was her now.
"I need a name..."
"How about Cherish?" Ai suggested.
Alexa made a face.."Hardly..Treasure would be nice."
Kali rolled her eyes at the two.."Her name will be Hope Storm. Because she has been given new hope for life."
"Hope...I like that name.." the woman in question said and she smiled.
"Don't get too used to things young Hope..you have six months to find a reason for your existance or you must come serve me."Kalikia told her.
"I won't forget..thank you both." she smiled again and stood up. Hope glanced at Ai,"Come on..lets go home."
Home wound up being Darkstorm Castle..Ai helped Hope get settled and then took her leave. During the next three months Hope and Arissa got things in order for her return to Rhy'Din. The stocks Melanie had held were transfered over into Hope's name and soon the three months had passed by and it was time to return home. With a fond farewell to her newly aquired 'sister' Hope stepped thru the realm barrier.
(Rhy'Din..three months after she left.)
Dark Whispers Manor and Dark Whispers Inn had a new owner and a new name. They were changed to Storm Manor and Hopeless Dreams Inn. Hope spent her first night back getting new business arranged for Hopeless Dreams and getting reaquantied with her chylde, Marron. But things weren't all sunshine and blue skies for her yet.
Hope stood at the doorway of Hopeless Dreams and looked out into the night. She wondered how many times she had run into him outside this very building..She was in a very nostalgic mood at that moment. resting her head against the door frame she sighed softly and wondered when she would see him again. She would have seeked him out but she didn't know where to look.
"Cormamin glina tirinin iire yassen ho"...My heart gleams brightest when with him...she was starting to think that was very true. She finally picked up her hand bag and locked the door to her inn..then starting the journey home she would let thoughts wonder on certain things. And even for her the future was unwritten. She would just have to wait and see what the Fates had in store for her.
Part 7:A Kiss Good-Bye
~The promise..and the dream~
It was almost ironic that when she would finally see him he still needed time to think. They had already been apart for three long months..months in which she had went to bed each night thinking of that night she had spent in his arms. She couldn't live on such things..she wanted so much more.
But she would give him the time he needed..even if hers was growing short. Ai would stop by during the next three months as the day she had to leave drew ever closer.Hope was curled up in a chair in the living room of Storm Manor..a fire going as usual, and Aiaka would find a seat of her own on the couch.
Ai would be the first to break the silence,"Did you tell him?"
"That I love him? Yes..I've told him that. That my life is forfit without a reason to exist here? Yes and no..he knows but he doesn't know what reason I need to stay." would be Hopes reply.
Ai shook her head as she dragged digits thru emerald curls,"You're hopeless..if it were me I would have said something."
"But you're not me Ai..and I don't work that way."
"Not even if he's your reason to stay?"
"Not even then..if he asks me to that would be all the reason I would need. But I will not tell him that all he has to do is ask and I would stay."
"Then you're either foolish or stupid, Hope."
"I'm neither..I want love..not to be asked to stay to save me from a life of virtual slavery."
Ai laughed some.."You know Kali doesn't work like that. She's against slavery as much as I am."
Hope cracked a small smile.."I know..Kali's idea of service is watching over those blasted children of hers."
"Dimitri does seem to get worse every year.At least Katelynn behaves. Whats on the agenda for this go around?"
"Something simple Ai..I get to pick up where Alisa left off teaching them magick."
"What fun for you..I wouldn't do it if she promised me immortality. Besides..I don't know anything about kids."
Hope gave her best friend a sly look,"You never know you might have one of your own soon."
Aiaka burst into laughter,"Goddess..I don't think a human and a Kindred can have children together Hope."
"Don't be so sure of that..Kali and Alexa's kids are half human."
"Thats true..gods help us if I have kids. They'll prolly wind up either working too much or something worse."
"You never know." Hope said quietly. The two women lapsed into silence for a while. Ai thinking of home, and Hope thinking of how little time she had left.She finally spoke again,"Promise me something Ai."
"What is it Hope?" a brow was perked.
"If..I do leave..will you promise to deliever a letter to him? I mean if he doesn't ask me to stay."
"I will..I'll make sure he gets it if it comes to that."
"Thanks Ai.."
"You're welcome Hope."Ai said quietly and soon after took her leave to return to her home in the future.
It would be close to dawn before Hope would retire for the night..it had been another night without feeding..but she didn't seem to care. She was weak from not feeding in over a month but she wasn't bothered by it much. She curled up on her bed..that same one she had shared with him so many months before. It seemed like nothing more than a dream now. She had been so shy then and since the recreation she had lost some of her shyness.
Perhaps it was better this way..that he didn't know that all she needed to stay was for him to ask. He was her dream..and she would wait for an eternity..it was all she had. She would teach her other best friends children..the price for being recreated. It was minor compared to what Kali could have asked, but she knew Alexa had a hand in that..afterall who better to teach her children than a Goddess of Air and Water. She hadn't even told him she was a goddess...had been made one thru the dying wish of an old lover.
Eyes would slipped closed and a red tinted tear would slip down snowy features. Even she didn't always get everything she wanted..maybe it would have been better if she had stayed dead.
Part 8: The Letter
~A good-bye note~
There was a cherrywood box on her desk at Hopeless Dreams Inn..the interior made of black velvet. Inside would be nestled a letter that she had pened before what would be her final meeting with him. Flowing script would cover a piece of parchment, each word meaningful and true.

Part 9: Epilogue: A reason found
~Ai steps in and Hope gets her dream~
Ai had been waiting she was already on her way to Hopeless Dreams and soon had the box open and that note ripped to shreds. It would never be seen by anyone.She shook her head some as she prepared to leave once more..Hope was still a child in some areas.But Ai knew that it was only because her friend had been so sheltered.
Hope had been right she would have had a field day with some of the things said. But Ai was being nice..afterall its not every day her best friend realized that she was wanted.She said more or less to herself,"Told you that you were foolish Hope." and then she stepped thru the rip in the fabric of time she had created and was gone.
Okay..so maybe Aiaka did know a few things..that still didn't mean she was perfect. Hope smiled to herself as she got ready got bed. She had gotten her dream afterall. Now she just needed to find a way to keep Ai and Alexa from giving her a hard time. Ai was easy..just threaten to bite her and she would go away..though they were only teasing when they did it. With Alexa just mention humans and she shuddered..especially human males. Although Ai was an exception to that rule.
Stephie was next on her list..her and Dom..it was about time those two got married. She was growing rather tired of them being so watchful.But there was time for that. She was more intrested in daydreaming right now and thats what she did.

"You're one evil woman Kalikia Darkrose." Alexa commented as she reclined on a chair near the fireplace.
"It worked didn't it? I knew what I was doing Alexa Nightshade." Kalikia commented from across the room where she was going over some papers.
"Yeah yeah..but he could have done the complete opposite of what we wanted."
