I am 15 years old, and I am in the 9th Grade.I live in Midland, NC and am homeschooled as well as my 3 siblings (Amy-18, Hannah-8, and Stephen-5). I am the bunny breeder in the family :). My two best friends (who also raise rabbits) that I met through this hobby, Robbie Odum, and Katie Kirkpatrick, are very special friends to me and are a very important part of my life.
I love spending time with my friends, or spending time talking to them over the computer or on the phone. I also love spending time online designing my website.
Ofcourse, rabbits are my favorite animal! I raise Holland Lops,American Fuzzy Lops. and Mini Rex. They are all wonderful rabbits... I love the ears on the lops, and the fur on the mini rex! My absolute favorite breed would have to be the Holland Lops - they always have been, and always will be, my favorite. I enjoy my rabbits a lot, and at one point took a break from rabbit raising (for about 4 months) and meanwhile, Robbie kept them at his house for me.. but I just couldn't do without them any longer, so I had to get back into rabbits! I've worked with many different breeds of rabbits over my 4 years of rabbit raising, and each breed is very fun to work with in its own way. Rightnow I am working torwards obtaining a Registrar's License in a couple years, and then I'd maybe even like to be a Rabbit Judge one day. I am staying busy with my rabbits rightnow too though, I enjoy being the Vice-President of the NCYRBA (North Carolina Youth Rabbit Breeder's Association), and my friend Katie is the president of the club, so it's fun helping her run the club, and I'm excited about some stuff the club is going to be doing in the near future. I also have a pet guinea pig who is really special to me, I know lots of my bunny friends raise those too... sometime maybe later on I might start to do something more on a small scale with some guinea pigs... depending on how busy I get! :)
Rightnow we've also got 26 baby chickens! We ordered them from Murray McMurray hatchery and got a assorted batch of laying chickens, me and my step-dad are going to get in the chicken egg buisness with them :)
When I'm not spending time with my rabbits (or other animals!) or my friends, I like listening to music.. I am very much into music!! I like lots of different kinds of music! I listen to some Country music, my favorite being Tim McGraw, but I mainly listen to Christian music... everything from praise/worship, pop, rock, punk- punk/rock, hip-hop/rap, r&b, etc! Some of my favorites are RELIENT K, who is a Punk Rock band, they're awesome, and my very favorite is P.O.D.... a hard rock/metal group ... they totally rock!! I'm also a big Hilary Duff fan too, and I love her music and her videos and show (Lizzie McGuire). And the movie she played in, A Cinderella Story, is my favorite movie. I also love her latest film, Raise Your Voice.
For Christmas, my dad gave me a nice Stereo and I have one of the speakers in each side of my room.. it's really cool, and I had been wanting a nice stereo for a long time! Now I've gotten a blacklight and a strobe light, and working on getting my room all set up with all that cool stuff!! :)
I'm not completely sure yet what I want to do or be when I grow up, but I know I would enjoy doing something with Rabbits, Makeup, or Sound/Lighting equipment.
I really enjoy spending time with my family too, I have some really great parents, and a really cool step-dad too. And I enjoy going places with my sister Amy, who just recently got her license. I can't wait until I can get my license... my dream car is a new 2004 bright red convertible ford mustang!
Another thing I love doing, which I do a lot in my spare time, is Cross-Stitching. I love Cross Stitching and Embroidery. A couple sets of pillowcases and a set of baby bibs are some of the things I recently completed.
