The measure of worthiness of most inhabitants of the world of Alskyr is their ability to stand on the Dunes at a caer, for a dragon egg. Although typically riders will Search for their candidates in the 'acceptable' places, some search riders will go to different lengths to discover the perfect candidate.
Many caers might not accept candidates who cannot come up with a letter of recommendation or something similar. Though on the word of the Protectorate's riders, they should take these odd "trippers" into their sands without fear.
This group of traveling folk have come from a number of different backgrounds and families, but they had been united under Clan held lands. That was before House Faustas settled on their small island home. A bustling merchant House, requiring much labor and intensive education, Faustas rarely compromised in any land grabs. The Clan Triptych obviously had lands they desired. With a simple background, most of the Clan members did not know any better than to allow their children or cousins out to the House for work. They were never seen again.
Though some people escaped the House's overbearing ways, most simply allowed the takeover to spread. Now there are only scattered remnants of Clan Triptych anywhere on Alskyr.
