Hey everyone!
I'm really sorry it's been so long since the last update, but things have been quite busy around here since Lauren came home. She's doing very well, and she's now up to over 9 lbs! She's following things with her eyes more, and is using her arms a little more freely. We went to Mac the other day to get a check up, and things are looking good. She had her left leg re-cast to correct the club foot, and you wouldn't believe the difference it's making! I'll take some pictures soon so I can share the miracles of Mac with the world! But her right foot, which had some minor issues, hasn't been progressing as much as we all would like, so they went ahead and casted that as well.
We are finally finding homes for everything, and systems and setups that work. Rita is continually educating me on what works and what doesn't, as she has the good fortune of having more awake time with Lauren than I do. But we're working together as an excellent team, and things are progressing well.
We moved Lauren's playpen to beside the window in our living the other day, and when the light of the sun hit out darling little angel, her hair shone like a stop light! That's right, there's definetly red in there! We think it might be more auburn, but I know I know baby hair colours change overtime. But we'll enjoy the red while it's there!
Lauren on occassion smiles a little, as it is hard for her to move those muscles still due to the low muscle tone. But she's enjoying her tummy time mat (thank you Uncle Dan and Aunt Laura), and tries to swat at the stuffed turtle that hangs from above.
As per usual, I have to run. But I did want to slap on a quick update to let everyone know that things are going well, and we're all happy to be home and are doing well. We all thank you for your ever love, support, thoughts and prayers. I'll try to update again before Christmas, but in case I don't, we all wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
