Hey gang. Just a very quick update as I'm running to work.
LAUREN IS COMING HOME TOMORROW!!!
So, Rita and I are quite excited to say the least. Lauren's been doing great, and the Care by Parent weekend we just finished up went swimmingly (no, we weren't in water, and I don't know how that expression came to be, but you know what I'm getting at). We've enjoyed our time growing closer as a family, and having the normality of waking up in the middle of the night to tend to Lauren's needs (well, enjoyed is a VERY strong word). But in all seriousness, it's really helped to establish confidence and a sense of normality in this hectic time.
Lauren's discharge papers are getting their "t"'s crossed and "i"'s dotted, and we're just about done! But we still have a long path to go down, but as I'm looking down that path, I see a few bumps and logs in the way, but there's also beautiful flowers and song birds in the air. We'll make it through.
I'm off to work. I'll try to update tomorrow night with a new pic of all of us at home. There may be more than just one!
Thank you to everyone for your support and love. This is just my usual thank you and close off. We're going home tomorrow because of the support you've given us over these past 3 months. And I know you'll continue to do so, because you're all so absolutly wonderful. I'm getting a little misty eyed as I write this, but words cannot express our thanks, so "thank-you" will have to suffice for now.
We'll talk soon.
