Family Update
What's New
November 20, 2006

Good morning everyone,

Lauren had a good day yesterday...correction, a GREAT day!  She has been doing so well, and finally, after months of waiting, she was finally able to meet Uncle Joe, Uncle Tom, and Aunt/Zia Christina!  It was awesome to have the extra family down who could finally meet Lauren, as it's been a long haul and everyone has been so patient.

It looks like we are just over a week away, with luck, from coming home.  We might be placed into a care-by-parent room as early as this weekend, where Lauren will be with Rita and myself for a full 48 hours.  Kinda crazy!!  If that goes well, Lauren will be discharged into our care, and to St. Catharines we go.  Yes, it's scary, but I know that's normal. But it's also exhilerating to know that soon we'll be in our house for the first time as a family of 3, and hopefully, we'll be able to bring Milo (our Jack Russell terrier) back from doggy-vacation on the Mennill farm.  There's no more sunning to be done for this year I think, but we do need to make sure Lauren gets situated, we build a routine, and then Milo can start off with little day visits.  If those go well, our family might reach a new number of 4!

My dad asked me what's going to happen to this website once we get Lauren home, and I think that was a good question (but I STILL say it was HOW you asked, Dad :-)   )  I will still try to update as often as I can, and with whatever news and new pictures.  Lauren is going to get bigger and stronger, and Rita and I would like to share that with her fan club!

I was able to get some software for the video that I took, but I will have to take some time and edit it down (it's 15 minutes @ 3Mb/minute=45 megs).  I think my site has a 20Mb/hr cap, so you can see why I have to edit it some!  I'll take some clips, probably take out the sound, and edit out some shots that just didn't turn out too well. I'll try to get it done soon, but I have tomorrow off work, and I think I'll take some family time!  :-)

With that, I'm off to work.  It's just starting to snow here a little in St. Catharines, and I hope we have a white Christmas, as long as it's a safe one.  I can't believe we're into that season already.  Take care everyone, and as always (you could probably say it with me by now), thank you for your thoughts, prayers, love and support.
